BEAST
A violent past has left blood on my hands.
Twenty-seven years old and I'm covered in scars, wounds, and tats.
It's all part of the game, and I'm going to win.
Shayna's got her whole life ahead of her, and I want to be part of it, but when I saw that guy put his hands on her...
The animal got out of its cage.
She shouldn't want me, but she has no choice. Women like her always need a beast.
And now I'm her only chance at staying alive.
In this outlaw life, I rule by force. The strongest will always have control and I don't intend to lose it now.
She invited me into her world, and now she's got a monster keeping her safe.
I'll do it, or I'll die trying.
SHAYNA
This wasn't my plan.
I'm in a mess that I didn't ask for, owing a favor to an entitled man who thinks he owns me.
And then I see Beast.
Now, I know what it's like to be someone's favorite possession.
A man whose chiseled, tattooed body is matched only by his cunning and savagery.
A man who confuses, arouses, and scares me.
And when he stares at me....
He's more animal than man.
I feel his rough hands racing all over my body.
His scarred, battle-tested torso pinned against my own.
And there's no way to stop hearing the words he growls into my ear:
"You're mine. And I'm never letting go."

CHAPTER 1
Shayna woke, feeling groggy, relaxed, and well satisfied. No school or work today, a new job waiting for her, and, most recently, a fucking to end all fuckings had her smiling as she climbed out of the darkness of sleep. Beast hadn’t been able to make her climax again as hard as he had the first time, but he still had her squirming and moaning in pleasure all night.
She rolled over and slapped at the bed, searching for him, before opening her eyes to the empty bed. She listened for the shower a moment then felt a crushing disappointment at the silence of the room. She didn’t expect everlasting dedication from him, but for him to leave her alone in the room...that hurt. It wasn’t even the fact that she wanted him to try to pound her through the bed again as much as she felt used.
She sat up, tears forming in her eyes as her mouth tugged down. I should have known he was no different than anyone else...damnit. She slipped on her glasses and padded naked out of the bedroom, hoping beyond hope to find him sitting there, but the room was empty. The pile of clothes by the door was missing and her purse had been moved to a table. She returned to the bedroom and checked the closet to find both her uniform and her suit neatly hung.
With a sigh she took a shower, spending longer than strictly necessary, trying to let go of the hurt. I tried to warn you, her angel murmured. Finished with her shower, she returned to the bedroom dressed in a robe. She retrieved her phone from her purse and called her parents.
Mom, it’s Shayna. I wanted to let you know I was okay.
Okay. I wish you had called us last night and let us know you weren’t coming home.
I know, Mom. But I got sidetracked. I’ll be home in a little while.
Everything okay? You sound a little down.
Yeah, everything is okay,
she lied. I’ll see you in a bit.
Okay, honey. Love you.
Love you, too, Mom.
She was halfway back to the bedroom when there was a knock on the door. Room Service!
She stepped to the door and looked through the peep. Thomas was there, holding a huge bouquet of roses. She opened the door. Hey, Thomas, put them on the table.
Shayna! What are you doing here?
As he entered he looked into the bedroom with the destroyed bed. Sorry, never mind. These must be for you,
he said as set the flowers on the table. If I had known they were yours I would have brought them up first thing.
First thing?
Yeah. Buds called for a pickup first thing this morning, but with the breakfast rush we’re just now getting caught up.
He looked at her and grinned. Must have been some night!
Shayna smiled slightly. Thomas was a good guy, but she wasn’t in the mood. Yes, well, things happen.
He chuckled as he started to the door. For two dozen roses, I would say it must have happened more than once. See ya,
he said as he stepped out of the room and closed the door.
She looked at the roses a moment, feeling a bit better before she plucked the card from the holder and opened it. Sorry I’m not there. Called to work. Would like to meet you for lunch. Visit La Fashion. Meet you in the room. Beast.
She smiled as she read the card again, then again, before she flicked it several times with her finger as she thought. Her smile spreading, she returned the card to the holder and picked up her phone again. She wasn’t going to be home as early as she thought.
HEY, SHAYNA, I’VE BEEN expecting you,
Jennifer said as Shayna stepped into the small boutique.
Why’s that?
A guest was waiting when I opened this morning. He left a two hundred fifty dollar credit for you. He said you would be down later to claim it.
He did?
Yeah. Told me to tell you to pick out something comfortable. Who is he? He’s was so damn hot I thought he was going to set the racks on fire!
Shayna giggled. A friend.
"Does he have any friends?" Jennifer asked, her eyes dancing.
A lot, I think.
Well if any of them look like him, introduce me, will you? Help a girl out!
Shayna grinned. I’ll see what I can do. Comfortable, huh? Okay, let’s start with a pair of pants. And I’m going to need some shoes, too.
Right this way.
BEAST LOOKED OVER THE room. The Bellagio was pissed! Hotel security had called DR Security first thing this morning telling them someone had broken into and wrecked the two adjoined suites they’d rented for the Argentines.
Nobody saw anything? Heard anything?
Beast asked Gregor Lloyd, the head of Bellagio hotel security.
No. The only reason we even knew it happened is housekeeping saw the open door. You told me there was no need for extra precautions. What’s going on, Beast?
Damned if I know, man,
Beast replied. There is no reason for this. The Argentines are in town talking to Boeing and Lockheed-Martin about purchasing some airplanes for their air force or some shit. Completely on the up and up. There’s no reason for this.
Are you sure?
Sure? Of course I’m not sure. How often do you get the whole story?
Gregor nodded. Stupid fucks. How do they expect us to do our jobs if they keep secrets?
I’ve got Molina on the phone,
Hightower said, handing the phone to Beast. He handled the day-to-day operations for the club and its various businesses, but Beast was the front man for the security company.
Señor Molina, this is Conor Boyd. We have a situation here,
Beast said as he took the phone.
What situation is that, Señor Boyd?
Joaquín Molina asked in his heavily accented English.
Someone broke into your rooms either last night or this morning. I’m wondering if you know anything about it?
Why would I know anything about it? I’m not even there.
I understand, but is there anything you haven’t told me. Anything I should know? I can’t keep you safe if you withhold information from me.
No, nothing. We are in your country just for what I told you. We are in the market for twenty-five new fighters for our air force. We spoke with Boeing and Lockheed, and now we are...relaxing. Monday we return home. Perhaps it’s one of the companies we spoke with?
Beast grimaced. "Not likely. If they were to go through your rooms, looking for something, they’d try to do it so nobody knew. This looks like someone trashed the rooms so you would know. You’re sure there’s nothing you’re not telling me?"
No, Señor Boyd. Why would we do that?
Beast sighed. Okay. How’s the Sons of Sins experience?
Molina chuckled. I think when I retire I will join a motorcycle gang. We’re robbing a bank today.
Beast grinned. Try not to get shot, okay?
Molina laughed. That would be bad for your business, yes?
Yes, very. Thank you Señor Molina. We’ll have your cars waiting for you when you return Sunday.
Beast hung up the phone and handed it back to Hightower. Nothing. I believe him.
You know we’re going to have to bill you for the repairs?
Gregor said.
Send me the bill. Shit! Something doesn’t make sense here. Hightower, send three more guys up to Lida, just in case.
Where are they going to stay?
Hell if I know. Figure something out. Rent an RV if you have to. But until we know what’s going on, we need to put some additional boots on the ground.
Beast turned his attention back to Bellagio security. "Thanks, Gregor. I’m
