About this ebook

She’s bound ... and determined to pass his test!

Dominant Thorne tells his submissive playmate Eileen that their weekend in Maine is a test for both of them. She thinks he’s testing how they like the rules he set for the trip: Skirts and no underwear. Addressing him as “sir”. Asking for permission to come. Most important of all, obeying him and letting him take charge.
Best test ever! They already know their kinky chemistry is off the charts. There’s no way to fail. If she gets “punished”, that’s just part of the fun.
As the weekend wears on, though, Eileen starts to doubt herself. Their experiments in oceanside spanking and hotel-bed bondage are scaldingly hot. But getting caught in the rain with Thorne shouldn’t feel as sweet as it does. And that’s not even getting into how much she enjoyed 100 percent vanilla candlepin bowling. Thorne’s her Dom and play-partner, not her boyfriend, and if she starts getting confused about their roles, the Harvard grad student may flunk a test for the first time in her life.
Unless Thorne is playing a deeper game and testing something else entirely. And how’s a sub to ask the right questions to figure out her Dom’s game when the weekend rules say he’s in charge

    Chapter One

EILEEN SQUIRMED IN her seat, savoring the lingering tenderness in her butt, as the car crossed over a small bridge spanning the sandy-banked Ogunquit River. It had been more effective sitting on the hard stool in Thorne’s kitchen, but even in the comfortable seat of the rented car she could feel the imprint of his big hands. The faint echo of pleasurable pain conspired with her imagination to crinkle her nipples and moisten her pussy. All right, maybe some of that was anticipation of the weekend to come. Thorne said she’d be tested this weekend, flashing an deliciously evil smile. She wasn’t sure what that meant but she was looking forward to finding out.

She was looking forward to more than a long weekend of kinky, spankalicious sex, though she anticipated a lot of sexy fun as part of the her test. In over a year at Harvard, she’d never made it up to Maine and she looked forward to exploring the little village of Ogunquit, which meant beautiful place by the sea. And somehow, what with the excitement of her new companion in kinky fun, she’d managed to go through the entire summer without getting closer to the beach than Boston Harbor. She was delighted that was finally changing, even though it was after Labor Day, they probably should have been back in Cambridge studying, and the sunny and warm forecast for the weekend looked like it might have been overly optimistic.

What the hell. If it wasn’t beach weather, it would still be walking-on-the-beach weather. And if even that failed, she and Thorne could find plenty to entertain them in a hotel room.

For once, none that entertainment would involve the many books and projects they’d left in their respective Cambridge apartments. Grad school could wait. This weekend was for fun. For playing tourist. And best of all, as far as Eileen was concerned, for deeper kinky explorations than they could manage in Cambridge, especially since they both had roommates. Open-minded roommates, thank the gods, but that didn’t mean they wanted the kink getting too loud or spilling out of the bedroom.

Still shivering with arousal and anticipation, she forced her gaze away from Thorne’s dark, handsome profile—damn, he was an erotic distraction just by existing—so she could pay attention to her surroundings. She’d normally be impatient with the pedestrian traffic that forced Thorne to putter along at a snail’s pace, but it gave a chance to drink in the view.

The river spread wide below the bridge, flowing fast toward the ocean. The bridge was lined with fishermen—mostly old men, one showing a small girl how to bait hook—and crowded with people heading to and from the beach. A few families with young children had set up camp on the estuary’s banks and the little ones were dabbling in the water, ignored by a half dozen black and white ducks and a couple of cormorants that were going about their business just out of reach. Through the open window, Eileen smelled the bite of salt air and heard surf roaring. Not big surf, judging from the sound, but enough to send shivers of excitement down her spine.

When Thorne pulled into the beach parking lot, Eileen literally gasped at the beauty before her. The beach was a long, sandy crescent. The estuary met the sea to their right, and further in the distance, she could see some of the rocky cliffs she’d imagined near the sea in Maine. The cliffs themselves were tamed, topped with elegant houses and hotels, but the crashing sea and a lowering sky provided all the wildness necessary. The beach was far from empty near the parking lot, but the crowd dispersed quickly, as if people weren’t venturing far due in case the tenuous hold on good weather broke.

Fools didn’t know what they were missing. Under a sky herringboned with dark clouds, the water was dappled, pale jade, dark blue-green, and near pewter, and the air was sharp and delicious.

Let’s go! She went to open the door.

Not so fast. Thorne enclosed her hand
