Foreword
When Joe asked me to write the foreword to his latest quiz book, I was honoured for a couple of reasons: 1) I would have my name on the front of a book; and 2) the quality of his first book was a wonderful guide for me as a fellow quizmaster.
The Film Buff’s Quiz Book is the sequel to Joe’s first book, The Ultimate Quiz Book Guide, and I’m certain the ‘difficult second book’ will delight many. As a film aficionado (a film degree from the University of Wolverhampton will testify to this) I love a film quiz book. Doubtless it shall captivate many, much like The Godfather: Part II, rather than Speed 2: Cruise Control.
Everyone likes a good film. Films breathe life into stories and create characters which are never forgotten. It’s a favourite quiz round to many, and this book covers everything from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to Toy Story, The Sound of Music to Reservoir Dogs... and much more.
The one frustration about Joe’s books is that he attends The Crescent Inn quiz on Monday nights, so I’m unable to use any of his taxing questions against him. However, after many beers at Ilkley Bowling Club, he may not recall ever writing them!
Read, enjoy, and share the knowledge.

Quizmaster, The Crescent Inn, Ilkley, West Yorkshire
