Kapitel 1: Allgemeine Fakten
Mehr als eintausend Götter wurden von den alten Ägyptern verehrt - wobei der wichtigste von ihnen Ra, der Sonnengott, war.
Die alten Ägypter waren die ersten Menschen, deren Kalender in 365 Tagen über zwölf Monate verteilt aufgeteilt war - obwohl sie auch zwei zusätzliche Kalender hatten; einen Mondkalender, der den Priestern sagte, wann sie Zeremonien für den Mondgott Khonsu durchführen sollten und einen astronomischen (basierend auf der Beobachtung des Sterns Sirius), der sie wissen ließ, wenn die Flutzeit näher rückte.
Die Ägypter erfanden Uhren - die allerersten Zeiterfassungsgeräte waren hohe Obelisken, deren bewegte Schatten wie eine Art Sonnenuhr wirkten.
Das Volk des alten Ägypten glaubte, dass die Erde (die sie Geb nannten) und der Himmel (Nut) täglich zerstört und dann von Ra wieder erschaffen wurden.
Die Ägypter glaubten, dass die Welt flach und rund sei, wobei der Nil durch seine Mitte floss.
Die alten Ägypter waren die ersten, die Gold für den Handel verwendeten (obwohl andere Zivilisationen es zuvor für Schmuck und Dekoration verwendet hatten).
Hieroglyphen, eine frühe Form der Schrift, wurden von den
