Prince Tony was just out for a walk when he came across Lizzy, who is a mermaid trapped in a frozen lake. Lizzy asked for Tony’s help in getting back to the ocean. Despite knowing it would anger his father, Tony decides he needs to rescue Lizzy.

Chapter One
Prince Tony had been given the job of finding the tree for the throne room, which was why he was tramping through snow. He had actually found the perfect tree and the guards had returned to the castle with it. Tony had decided to continue to walk on his own as it was a beautiful day to be outside. The snow was deep and it was still with frost in the air. Occasionally there was the sound of cracking of tree branches as they bent under the snow. It was the perfect day for a walk.
He came out of the forest and into the clearing around the lake. In the summer the lake was filled with fish by the royal environmental department for the enjoyment of the royal family. Tony himself spent plenty of time during the summer and occasionally early autumn sitting on the edge of the water with a fishing pole. The castle cook always smiled and said she appreciated having fish to serve for supper. Sometimes when it was a hard winter, there was thick enough ice to go skating.
Despite it being cold enough for long enough, Tony wondered if the ice was thick enough to walk on. He made a path in the snow down to the water’s edge. There was a thin layer of ice but not enough to walk on. Tony sighed in disappointment. It was always a good Christmas Eve when they
