Book 1
Part 1
Prologue
The leader of the El Dorado street gang was released from jail, and he planned on continuing with his illegal activities. This guy didn’t have the same view point of freedom that law-abiding citizens have. His idea of freedom was the ability to commit as many criminal acts as he could get away with carrying out. That is why he has been in jail twice and is lucky to still be alive. At that time, he never would have thought that he would have so many highly trained, law abiding people going after him, just from one illegal act. He would be responsible for carrying out this illegal act in a couple of months. This guy was going to make sure that he isn’t caught for carrying out any of his crimes this time. It was summer time, and as he exited the jail where he was being held, he breathed in the fresh air and thought about what his first crime was going to be now that he was released. Prison changes some people, but not this guy. He had to commit crimes, and he didn’t feel any remorse for them. Prison just made him want to experience some of the things that he been missing out on but all of them illegal.
He figured that he had enough of jail to last the rest of his life, but he didn’t learn anything from his time in jail. Knowing that the police didn’t catch him for his more serious offenses, made him think that he could expand his business of crime. However, while he was prepared for the police, he wasn’t prepared for the unlikely person that he would face later on. This crime would turn out to be the biggest mistake that he has ever made, and maybe he would finally learn something from it. However, this might be hard for him to do since crime is the only thing he has ever done. Also, he had no plans of ever stopping. He has been arrested twice for minor crimes, but he was responsible for more serious crimes that the police weren’t aware of.
He spent two years in jail for the two crimes that he was convicted of. The two arrests that he was actually found guilty of were for similar crimes that the criminal justice system were able to send him to jail for. However, the police weren’t aware of the other illegal activities that he was guilty of carrying out. He was into drugs and robbery. He wasn’t afraid of death, even though he had a bad lifestyle. He figured that he would live for a long time, and the one crime that this guy hasn’t carried out is murder.
However, he figured that he would make that leap if he had to. With the way he was going and if the police didn’t do something, more serious crimes wouldn’t be far off. The leader of this gang figured he would commit this capital offense if he had to.
He was far too confident in the way he ran his organisation, and the fact that he was able to get away with the more serious crimes that he had been committing, just made his confidence in his illegal activities grow. He was still running his gang from jail, and they were able to make more money for him even though he was jail. All this guy thought about in jail was making more money.
The reason why he was released early both times, was because of his good behaviour. He was smart enough to know that good behaviour meant less jail time. So, he was just putting on an act to get released sooner. All of the other convicts that were in jail with him had a great deal of respect for him. They knew who he was even though the police weren’t able to piece it together. This guy, while he wasn’t a genius, he was smart enough to know how to keep his illegal activities hidden from the police. And he figured that it would take his death for him to stop carrying out the crimes that he was responsible for.
He was definitely a villain in modern day LA. After all of the illegal activities that he has been guilty of carrying out, and even though he had been close to death, he didn’t think that it could happen to him. He thought he was pretty much invincible, that’s how naïve he was, because everybody has to face death eventually. The reason why he wasn’t convicted of more serious crimes was because most of the time he had other people in his gang carry out the crimes. After he was released from jail the second time, he set up a base of operations in East LA and reunited with the other members of his gang. They set out with the purpose of committing every crime they could possibly get away with. However, they weren’t aware that these activities would force them to watch out for more than just the police. In fact, some of the actions that they would take would have consequences from an unlikely person who would be on his own quest for justice.
Chapter 1
It didn’t occur to Mike Davis when he woke up on October 22, 2004, that his life was going to change. He never thought that he would do any sort of martial arts, he didn’t even know much about it. He did know some from what he’d seen on TV and heard about. But he never had a reason to practice it, and he didn’t know about the spiritual aspects. He thought that they were mostly for Hollywood. He liked to be entertained by the martial arts, however, that was all he considered until later that day. Mike knew that they also played a pretty big part in some of the comic books that he liked to read. Sometimes, he would buy a newspaper just to read the comics in it. He had always been a fan of
