About this ebook

Oh, the wonderful Gift of Life!

The life that you and I have is a gift from God. "Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being." Genesis 2:7 - NIV.

Because of the fall of man in the garden, we deserved death but God gave us life. His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ took our sins and gave us His righteousness.

Every day of our lives should be cherished as a precious gift as it really is. Unwrap the daily gift of life with awe and wonder and always be thankful for even the small things.

"Life and death is in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruits." Proverbs 18:21- KJV.  What Solomon is actually saying is that the words that we speak it gives life and it also kills. So, what it's going to be? Life or death? Speak life, be thankful and live!

The Daily Gift - Jo-Marie White

    DEDICATION

I would like to dedicate this book to my late mother, Adelsa White, affectionately known as Ms. Dell.  She instilled the ways of the Lord in me from a young age, which is the surest foundation anyone could ever be given.

Your godly teachings still resonate in my heart, and your memories live on.  Thank you, Mom!

You will always have a place in my heart.

    THE GIFT

There is one thing that affects people the same all around the world—gifts!  Gifts are given in every country and at every age and stage of life. Most people will receive a gift at least once in their lifetime.

But how would you describe a gift? Is it something that must be wrapped or given in celebration of something or someone? No!  A gift is freely given without expecting anything in return.

Some gifts are given with the expectation of receiving something, but that is not a true gift. True gifts are given without thought of one’s own need.

You can usually tell when a gift is given from a disingenuous place, because the giver is expecting  something in return. And sometimes some of the least expensive gifts are the most thoughtful.

Some mothers still have a letter or poem their child wrote for them years ago because of what it means to them. The importance of the gift is often judged by the significance of what is given and its timing.

If you are going through a hard time financially and someone walks up and pays for your groceries, that gift of generosity will mean the world to you because it came at a time when you needed it.

I personally get excited when planning gifts for others. There is a whole process that takes place. There is first the desire to get or do something for someone.

The second part is deciding what to give. If you know the person well, they have
