The music thumped in our VIP room. Even as I entered the room behind several of my Addict brothers, I could tell it was going to be a night to remember.

Four red leather couches lined the corners of the room, all filled with women for their friends’ bachelorette party. Each couch was double-sided, in order for us to take a woman (or women) of our choosing to the other side for a bit of privacy. We had turned down the lights before we entered in order to allow the spotlight to expose us in the best way.

There were eight of us on the party, more than the usual three or four. But the maid of honor had been adamant that she wanted a lot of dancers: one for every two women. It wasn’t ideal for any of us, because tips weren’t as good with more dancers, but she insisted, even going as far to pay each of us a thousand bucks for the night ahead of time. It was beyond the norm, but it meant none of us had to worry about tips; instead, we could just have a good time and do whatever we wanted.

I never wanted to be a stripper, but life wasn’t always what anyone expected.
