PROLOGUE

Stephanie tiptoed to the master bathroom careful to go slowly with her new burgeoning belly. Her precious babies were growing quickly inside of her, apparently at twice the rate of normal human fetuses.

She supposed she should be grateful to the little Devils that she wouldn’t suffer through an almost year-long pregnancy. How any woman did that, she had no idea!

The little lovies! So thoughtful! She just couldn’t wait to meet them. True, her moods seemed to alternate from excitement to anxiety and back again whenever she thought of her impending motherhood, but could you blame her? Her own parents were more into partying and flying all over the world than in raising the little girl they’d had together.

Stephanie frowned thoughtfully. The first thing she wanted to do for her family was to provide a memorable, loving holiday season. A real Christmas with a homecooked dinner, a beautifully decorated tree, carols, presents, steaming hot cocoa with humongous marshmallows, and all the trimmings!

It’s everything I’ve ever wanted. A husband who loves me, babes of my own, and friends to share the holiday season. Sigh.
