About the Author

Helana Olivier, author of various books including the bestseller, Stories of real hope, resides in Durban, South Africa. She is married and has three adult children.

She obtained a BA degree and a post-graduate diploma in translation from the University of Stellenbosch as well as a licentiate in Speech and Drama. She is on the executive committee of the South African Association of Speech and Drama teachers. Helana has done several counselling courses and is a motivational speaker.

FEARLESS LIVING

1. To fear the next step leaves you stuck. Being afraid to move forward, leads you nowhere. Be cautious, My friend, for life is short and nothing is guaranteed. In the wink of an eye, your thread of life could be cut. Therefore, do not let fear be a handicap preventing you from fulfilling your dreams or realising your ambitions. Every great journey starts with one step; a leap of faith. Isaiah 41:10, Deuteronomy 33:27

PATIENCE

2. Patience is one of the highest virtues. By acting impatiently or with anger, you chase everyone away from you. Be disciplined in your thoughts. Instead of growing irritated or frustrated with someone, be aware of your own feelings and take a moment to gather your thoughts. There is no gain in losing your temper. Too many arguments and fights start through thoughtless reactions. Be in control of your temper and you will be triumphant. By calling on My help, you can change into a person who will not allow his impatience with his own shortcomings and those of others to cause you to act prematurely and out of anger. Proverbs 16:32–33; 1 Thessalonians 5:14

GOODNESS

3. Before evil even strikes, you anticipate it. Why do you do that to yourself? I promise goodness and favour. It is yours for the taking. Why do you distrust me? Look around you. Don’t you see all My good deeds? The prayer-line to Me is never engaged. I am omnipresent. I am everywhere. Always. I know it is hard to understand, but you have to take My Word for it. Use the free facility. Lately, there are few things for free. You can rely on the line to Me. I promise you that I’m always there. Psalm 23

CONTENTMENT

4. Be careful of trying to satisfy everyone. Rather follow My lead; everything else will fall into place. I teach by example. If you follow the principles in My Book, things will soon become clear, and you will feel content. Hebrews 13:5–6

TWO ARE BETTER THAN ONE

5. Two are better that one. Do you still not believe me? You still try and do things your way. If two birds build a nest, they soon have a home. If two people pray together, the prayer becomes more powerful. I promise you. But why then do you still struggle along on your own? If you ask Me, I will provide you with all the spiritual guidance you need. Matthew 18:19

ASK TO RECEIVE

6. The prayer-line to Me is never engaged. If you ask Me directly, I will provide you with an answer. You might become frustrated, because I don’t reply straight away or in the way you’d like. I notice that, if I take My time to reply because I have a plan for your life, you think that I have forgotten about you. In the interim, you approach your worldly WhatsApp group. I don’t think that is such a good idea, because you will receive many answers. Be patient. I WILL reply. My answer is the right one. Open your ears in order to hear My voice. If you trust Me, the connection is never faulty. Don’t let doubt enter your mind. I know when you don’t trust Me completely. Mark 11:24
