From Darkness and Despair to Wonder and Amazement

We live in a thought-created world. A careful look around our environment with a contemplative mind reveals this. Everything you see – everything – is the product of thought and intention. At one time these things we see around us did not exist, but they were born into existence with thought, after which time the laws of physics and chemistry went to work for the thinker, and brought about the manifestation of the original image of the thinker. People may assume that the cause of the manifestation of these creations was exhaustive super-human effort, but this is not actually how it works. The physics and chemistry are automatic, driven and controlled by a mystical and mysterious power, that some people call God, which exists everywhere, controls everything, and is automatically activated by the power of intention, a power that every person has regardless of age, colour, gender, religion or nationality.

This truth about the universe is hidden beneath the never-ending chatter of the human mind. Even before the industrial revolution, cutting through this ego-chatter was a task requiring constant effort for the spiritual seeker, and there are references to this internal battle in spiritual books that were written thousands of years ago and are still available in bookstores today. But with the 20th-century emergence of radio, TV, 24-hour news cycles and the Internet, the chatter has been super-amplified to a degree unlike anything we have seen before, and the truth about the awesome power of thought and intention has been hidden all the more because of it. But it is still there, accessible to anyone and everyone, and just as powerful as it ever was.

For the modern person in search of a meaningful and fulfilling life in the midst of the madness, it is his or her job to detach from the chatter, and start a new thought-system based on the assumption that you don’t actually know anything, and that all judgments you have made in the past are totally without merit or knowledge. We must detach from all judgments to find the hidden silence and the peace that has eluded us. And when this happens, the man or woman becomes more powerful than he ever has before. This is when genuine intention can occur - the true intention that holds the power, that is not fleeting or clouded with ego-judgment, but rather is strong and lasting, and causes the universe to bow before you, and activate the physics and chemistry to work in your favour, for the image you have created.

For some, believing faithfully in this principle, which is indeed an essential component for using it, is impossible until they have gone through numerous efforts to achieve things in the world that came up fruitless and caused repeated frustration. Feeling as though they have reached a dead end, they no longer have the desire to keep labouring with the same approach. There may even be a feeling of desperation. They have run out of gas, and are on the verge of, or have already reached the point of not wanting to live on this earth any longer, at least not as the same individual they have been so far.

This may seem like a dark place, and it is. But it is also a great moment of fantastic opportunity, and a chance of rebirth. If that person, can be brought into contact with the right source of knowledge at that time, and lets the seed of that knowledge descend into his or her soul without fighting it, it can be the beginning of a new world of wonder and amazement, filled with love, peace of mind, prosperity and contentment. It is a critical time in that person’s life, and years later, may be looked back on by that person as the most important moment of his life.

This magical moment becomes the beginning of the breaking down of the thought-system the person built previously in his life. This process, which can be traumatic and frightening, nonetheless gives way to a new thought-system – one that is built on faith in God, self-love, self-knowledge, and fearlessness. From this new thought-system comes great strength, confidence, and the ability to heal and help others. God’s presence becomes noticeable in every moment, and in everything.

God of course is not a being that lives in the sky, and waits until we die before bringing us up to heaven, but only if we have lived according to his rules. God is with us here and now, in everything, and in everyone, and perceivable in every breath. We need to find him during our life, not after. We need to find him on this earth, within us and within every person, not in some far-away place that is separated from earth. If we dedicate our life first to seeking after God, before every other pursuit, he will transform our lives into the mystical and wonderful experience that which we have secretly dreamed about.

You will be Given the Desires of Your Heart

I am writing to reach people who have arrived at this critical understanding, either easily or after great toil and difficulty, and my message is this: If you are willing to let your thought-system be destroyed, and to begin your journey as a new man or woman, with humble surrender to God, your life will change magnificently. No longer will you appear to be a victim of a cruel world. You will know your identity as son or daughter of the Almighty, and you will see miracle after miracle, as you walk through the world in light, letting that light nourish your soul, and bringing that light to others who are suffering, and seeing it nourish their soul.

No longer will you be alone, trapped as a mouse in a cage with no way out. No longer will you have to settle for mediocrity in your relationships or your career. No longer will you have to accept that the desires of your heart are beyond your reach. God will change all of this, and he will give you the desires of your heart. All of them.

This is worth repeating: If you seek after God, he will give you the desires of your heart. If he did it for me, he will do it for you. As you will see in this book, when I was a young man, I was a selfish and cynical loser. Although they didn’t always say it, I knew in my heart that people did not like or trust me, I was unable to grow relationships with the people I wanted to, and though I did not want to admit it, I secretly hated myself.

After going through what seemed like hell, and coming to the point described above, when I realized that based on what I had learned of life so far, I no longer wanted to live, and feeling that I had arrived at the darkest point of my life, something amazing happened. I felt a great light come upon me, and discovered a simple joy that I never knew existed. It was a boundless and wonderful happiness, and as I immersed myself into it, I suddenly looked upon the whole world, and everyone in it, differently. No longer did I see everyone as a competitor, but as a brother and sister, whom God resided in. No longer did I see them as separate from me, but rather as unified with me as children of the almighty, perfectly innocent and perfectly deserving of love and everything that comes with love.

This experience was over 20 years ago, but the more time passes the more I realize what a stark turning point it was. I began to seek God’s approval daily – not necessarily by being a goody-two-shoes and submitting to someone else’s philosophy, but by seeking to understand within myself what God wanted me to do. I believed and affirmed that he wanted me to be happy, to love all others, to be open to his gifts both spiritual and material, and to dedicate every moment to Him. Everything changed. I went from being a lost and confused young man who felt like he had nothing, to receiving everything my heart desired. The things I once feared I would never have, such as wealth, a good career, a beautiful and loving spouse, and healthy and happy children, now surround me every day. I am the proof that this philosophy works. And I now seek to share this philosophy with him or her who, like me, was in great need of an approach to life that is certain to succeed.

When one has resolved deeply to stake his life on God, there is nothing to fear. All the power of the universe is within you, waiting to be unleashed, in order to work the universe in your favour. It is not a sin to want to have wealth. On the contrary, it is a spiritual necessity. For how else can you learn that wealth does not ultimately matter, but by becoming wealthy? God wants you to have earthly wealth, so that you may learn of his love for you, and learn that in-and-of-itself itself it has no value, except as a tool to communicate love to others.

Wealth requires having money, but it also means more than that.
