Introduction

Publishing has been around for centuries, so why get into it now? Do I have to write an entire book by myself? How do authors make stunning book covers and don’t they cost thousands to make? These were the questions I had about publishing a few years back. At the time those questions went unanswered and I ultimately choose to start selling physical products on Amazon. The biggest problem with selling physical products on Amazon is that you must give away your entire inventory in order to get ranked high enough to make any returns. Since buying, shipping, designing, writing and labeling my products took my entire budget, I had no way to get a jump start on my competitors and eventually my product failed. After losing over $6000 I decided maybe starting a business just wasn't for me.

While I was in school finishing up my engineering degree, I came across a podcast of a friend of mine, he was talking about how his job was terrible and was working 80 hours a week, until he was introduced to kindle publishing. He explained that he was making more money off his books then what his full-time job provided. In my mind I was like, yea that is great and all, but there is no way I am going to write an entire book much less make money from one. At the end of the podcast he revealed that he didn't write a single word, he paid a ghost writer to do this for him. Suddenly the wheels started turning.

For the past several years I have been making great income from publishing on Amazon KDP, I decided to write this short eBook to inspire other entrepreneurs to see the value of publishing.
