    Drone Buzz

A box of boxes, Blitz thought and sighed with disappointment as he took in the contents of the drone he’d hacked. Nearly two days of planning and three of working out the hacks it would take to override the drone’s delivery routines to reroute the thing to an abandoned lot in the lower city. Not to mention the routines to disable the security on the delivery pod itself.

He sat back in the faraday room of his refurbished accommodations in the blasted out remains of a subway station that had cracked in the last round of nuke strikes nearly ninety years ago in the lower city and took a pull from the can of synth beer he’d opened in anticipation of a solid score. The insured value and weight of the registered delivery had made him think he’d be getting his hands on a RealGrown™ shipment. Fresh produce could sell for a small fortune on the black markets of the lower city.

He leaned forward and stared at the collection of paper boxes in the delivery pod. Well, they felt and smelled like real paper, so there was that. Black and shiny, they carried only the brilliant blue logo of an arrow pulled back in a bow. Sagittarius Blue. He’d checked the nets for the logo. Specialized in adult entertainment immersive holovids. A strictly digital company, no selling of thin chips or crystal storage media.

So, what would they be selling that came in a collection of four black boxes with an insured value that could feed twenty lower city dwellers for a month?

He picked up one of the boxes, about ten inches on the long side and eight on the short. He broke the foil seal on the two longer sides and opened the box. Inside was a matt black rectangle, like one of the old communications and portable computers from a hundred and fifty years ago. Glass or at least crystal-plas on both sides. No power buttons or ports on the exterior edges, but obviously some sort of computing device.

He stroked the smooth edges of the tablet and a blue flashing logo appeared on the backside of the device. Well, he figured, frontside if he’d been holding it right. Sagittarius Blue again. After a second or two the logo disappeared to be replaced with glowing blue text.

PENIS and ASS, he thought with a groan. Someone in the marketing team thought they had a sense of humour.

The screen displayed a collection of sex toys: a dildo, nipple clamps and cock ring that apparently were in the other boxes in the drone pod. He briefly glanced through the specs of the toys and his estimation of the tech involved went up. These were not just sex toys. They were high tech pieces of smutty art.

He set aside the tablet and opened one of the other boxes. This one was rectangular as well, but heftier in weight than the tablet had been, about eleven inches long and about five inches square. Inside was a silver dildo. Well, dildo-like cylinder. It didn’t look much like a dick.

He tipped it out of the velvet-lined box into his hand and the cool metal immediately warmed in his grip and then moved. Blitz almost dropped it but held on as the metal – or what he had thought was metal – reshaped itself into a rather large, thick floppy dick. The heat was body warm in his hand and the metal felt soft and almost moist as if he held a real penis in his hand that someone had painted silver. As he tightened his grip, the thing shifted again, lengthening slightly as it stiffened. He almost thought he could feel a pulse in the thing.

This time he did set it down and almost immediately it resumed its cylindrical shape as it sat on the table.

Okay, then, he said to the air. Creepy. But kinda hot, too.

He opened another box and in this one was what looked like a rubber cock ring. There was no other way to describe it. A ring of thick black rubber, although there were metallic flecks imbedded in black material and he wondered how it would feel wrapped around his junk.

The final box contained what were supposed to be the nipple clamps, but they looked as odd as the definition of a dildo had been. A single piece of a rubber-like material, like the cock ring with metal flecks, with a round, flat circle at either end.

The tablet beeped/vibrated on the table and he picked it up. It displayed a message requesting to uplink with the implants embedded in his spinal cord. He’d been implanted at age six when he’d started school. Legal, government-issued VR implants, the only way to learn. Of course, when he’d been kicked out of the house at fourteen (because even in this day and age, a boy who liked dick wasn’t always welcome at home) he’d gotten a few less than legal mods for hacking. Hey, a kid’s gotta eat and he wasn’t about to jump into selling himself even if he liked sex with older guys.

The faraday set up had kept the tablet and toys from linking to the outside networks, which was the only way he’d be able to keep Sagittarius Blue and the local corporate enforcement guys from finding him. But the uplink request would want to tunnel out through his local link and from there out to the nets and then Sagittarius Blue would know exactly where he was.

He looked to the toys again and debated. He could probably get one of the fences he knew to sell the stuff for a decent enough profit, but he’d have to scrub the toys and tablet first and doing so could make them useless. He’d have to check the programming on them all and see how linked they were. If most of the operating systems were net-based or running remotely from Sagittarius Blue servers, then scrubbing them could cut them off permanently and make them useless.

He picked up his beer and took another pull. Then again, he could just anonymously contact Sagittarius Blue and ransom them back. He’d not come across any adverts or announcements about anything like these toys, so they were obviously prototypes. And that meant Sagittarius Blue and, most likely its competitors would be interested in getting them.

He opened a shielded archive in his internal storage and pulled up a systems analyzer and let it loose into the tablet to assay the software. Within minutes its initial report showed a local archive protected by some stunning anti-hacking algorithms with a pipe out into the net. So, it could run unconnected but relied on net connections for most of the higher functions like VR simulcasting and AI-based adaptations. Not useless when not connected, but seriously less fun. The toys were connected to the tablet and got their operating parameters from it so, yeah, without a connection they were just fancy toys without any VR kick or neural feedback. Silicon dongs and rubber rings for tying up your balls would be more fun.

He finished his beer and left the faraday room to grab another from the kitchen while he thought about the situation. His home was three subway cars half in and half out of the tunnel of the old subway station under the streets of a largely abandoned sector of the lower city.
