About this ebook

Jessica has decided she's in love. Cassie has decided her sister is nuts. And fate steps in to turn everything Cassie thought she knew about her hunky boss and the world entirely upside down.

Cassie has been looking out for her sister Jessica for what feels like her whole life. Jess is sweet, but she's not the brightest bulb, okay? So when she starts dating a man that Cassie fears is dangerous, Cassie insists on meeting him.

The last thing she expects to find out at dinner with Jessica's love, Jordan, is that he's her sexy boss Seth's cousin! And, if that wasn't crazy enough, he and Jess have set her and Seth up as a blind date. But when Seth comes back to her apartment and they end up rolling around in the sheets, he reveals the deep, dark secrets he's been hiding from her for years. After the best sex she's ever had, of course.

Can their love survive, or will Cassie run away from the opportunity in front of her?

What She Didn't Know is a quirky, tongue-in-cheek, steamy, sexy romance short story intended for mature audiences only. It contains language, shape-shifting, and adult sexual situations. Reader discretion is advised.

    Chapter One

I don’t intend to be mean. I really don’t. But my sister’s love life is better than any movie. I even bring popcorn sometimes when she tells me about her latest and greatest beau. Really, if I were a writer, her social life would make the perfect fodder for all kinds of story ideas and plot twists. If I didn’t know her, know she’s incapable of being dishonest (well, not really—but she sneezes when she lies, which is a dead giveaway), I wouldn’t even believe half of what she tells me.

That said, when she met me for lunch today, I wasn’t expecting to be knocked off my feet by what she had to say. I mean, even for Jessica, this was beyond the pale.

We planned to meet at this little bistro near where I work. She came in, sunglasses on, impeccably dressed in a flirty little sundress and looking like a million dollars as always, except for the fact that she has this fricking huge scarf wrapped around her neck.

It’s July. People are staring, and not because she’s beautiful.

Jessica doesn’t seem to notice, though. She sits down across from me with a wide smile, which I can barely see as the edges of the scarf have crept up to halfway cover her mouth.

Hi, Cass. Love the new shirt, she mumbles through the raw silk that now encased half her head. I glance down at the shirt I’ve had for two years now.

Thanks. What’s with the mummy treatment?

Jessica blinks at me with confusion. When I gesture to my own neck, her eyes widen with comprehension. Ohh, you mean the scarf. She lowers her voice to almost a whisper. Is it too much?

It’s my turn to blink with confusion. Too much what? Too much color? Too much pattern? Too much fabric for a day that is threatening to hit the one-hundred-degree mark? It, uh, it’s a bit unexpected, I finally stammer. Why are you wearing it?

The waiter comes over and Jessica smiles up at him so sweetly, he almost trips as he comes to a stop beside us. I know for a fact he’s gay, but she’s just that beautiful.

"Could I get a sparkling water with lemon, please? But hold the
