Princess Amelia lives with her father and mother in the fictional kingdom of Therron. One night after dinner there was an invasion by the family enemy Irona. Irona is a sorceress who was banished to the Forbidden Mountains with a barrier to keep bad people there. Irona has spent her whole life trying to get rid of the successors of the royal family. So when she kills the Queen, Amelia is devastated. Irona gives Amelia the power to go wherever she thinks in hopes that Amelia would try to find her. Amelia also lost her memory of her mothers death after Irona knocked her out. The next day Amelia teams up with a wisecracking dove named Dave. She and Dave head on an amazing adventure to defeat the evil Irona. Each character will learn a valuable lesson about bullying, revenge, peace, and life. This is the first book of a series of books called The Mighty Amelia series.

Penny Witt is a young writer, who has lived a hard life her whole life. She was bullied at a very young age for being different. She gives each of her characters a reason to do what they do. She says that her first ever book Mighty Amelia: An Adventure To Remember came about when she was only eight.

She says the story and characters came about when she was thinking of making a movie for when she grew up. Characters like Dave the dove, Irona, Peron, King Francesco, and  Amelia had already been conceptualized. Some characters didn’t even have a name yet like King Francesco. Penny is a extremely big Disney fan. She loves watching, and experiencing the wonder that they bring. Penny says that in a lot of ways her books feel more like something Disney would make. She says sometimes when she’s writing her books she’s watching a Disney film at the same time.

Life has not always been easy for Penny. She was born with two mental disorders. She says she can write emotion in her books because she experienced several different kinds of emotion.

                            Introduction

All the way across the Mediterranean Sea, there is a castle on an island in Southern Italy known as The Kingdom Of Therron. A bridge connects the castle to the village. Beyond that, there is the forest and beautiful meadows that can go on for miles and miles before reaching the Northern Mountains.
