About this ebook

Rock Star Steve Mitchem has it all. Fans adore him, and he beds any woman he wants. But he's never forgotten the small-town girl he left behind in Oklahoma. He can't believe his luck when he spots her one night in the front row of his concert. He takes her to his house in Malibu where things heat up quicker than his hot tub.

Julie Ray moved to Los Angeles to become a model. Her good looks landed her a few jobs, but she's spent more time working as a waitress just to pay the bills. When she attends a concert to see her old friend perform, she is surprised when he recognizes her. She'd do anything to bed her old flame, even if it means leaving her heart behind.

Julie Ray floated down the long aisle. An usher stopped her, glanced at her ticket, and pointed toward the front. She couldn’t wait to see the one guy she’d loved since high school.

Anita, her best friend, trailed behind her. I can’t believe you won the radio contest.

She slowed, glanced around the indoor arena, and wondered how much nerve it took to perform in such a large space. Not many people know the name of the town Steve Mitchem grew up in, but I sure do.

I can’t believe you know him. Do you think he’ll remember you? Anita scanned the crowd, her face flushed with excitement.

Julie stared at the microphone stands, amps, guitars, drum set, and Hammond B3 organ filling the stage. I haven’t seen him in ten years, of course he doesn’t. The goodbye kiss he gave her that long-ago night on her front doorstep flitted through her brain. His lips lingered touching her mouth, like he didn’t want to let go. Her stomach fluttered at the memory and the prospect of seeing him again.

He took you to a movie the night before he left town. Anita waved to someone she spotted on the next level, held up her ticket, and pointed toward the front.
