The Adventures of Little Mikey
()
About this ebook
Nearly every day, whether at school, at home, or at play, Little Mikey seems to get himself into some type of mischief or trouble. The mischief and trouble he gets into doesn’t cause anyone to get hurt. He never bullies anyone. He never uses foul language. And he never uses violence to solve problems. But he makes decisions that sometimes cause him to get into trouble with his parents and teachers.
When Little Mikey makes a mistake and finds himself in trouble, he knows to follow three steps: 1. Admit that he made the mistake. 2. Apologize. 3. Promise to try not to make the same mistake again. Each school day, his teachers, counselors, and principals remind him and the other kids of those three important steps, which are not intended to punish. Instead, they are intended to help them to become better at resolving conflict and making learning more fun and exciting.
Join Little Mikey, his family, and his best friend, Ricardo, in a series of stories about Little Mikey’s daily adventures as a 10-year old kid. Some of the stories will make you laugh and cause you to think that Little Mikey is a really cool kid. When one of his mistakes makes him feel sad, you might even feel sorry for him.
Some of the stories might make you ask: What would I have done if I were Little Mikey? Why did Little Mikey do that? What could Little Mikey have done to avoid getting into trouble and mischief?

The Adventures of Little Mikey - Anthony Harris
friends.
Introduction
Little Mikey is 10 years old and lives with his mom, dad, and sister. His full name is Michael Vincent Harris, but many people call him Little Mikey because, in his first-grade class, there were two Mikeys – one big and one little. Since he was smaller than Big Mikey, his friends started calling him Little Mikey and the other Mikey, Big Mikey.
Chapter 1
Good Day/Bad Day
The alarm clock came to life with the happy sounds of his favorite video.
Mikey Vincent Harris, or Little Mikey as his friends and family called him, sat straight up in his bed, threw back the covers, rubbed his eyes, and s-l-o-w-l-y s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d his arms over his head. Then, like a Jack-in-the-box, he quickly popped up, and hopped onto the floor in his bare feet.
As he raced toward the bathroom, he tore off his pajamas and dropped them in the dirty clothes hamper. He brushed his teeth, combed his hair, and got dressed – in his favorite shorts, T-shirt, and sneakers.
He rushed back to his bedroom, turned on his television, popped in his favorite DVD and sat on the floor with his legs crossed. He bounced his legs back and forth and up and down, waiting for the picture and sound to come to life.
A few seconds later, the show’s theme song and six happy, dancing children appeared on the television screen. Little Mikey had a great big smile on his face as he started singing along with the dancing children, who were dressed like giraffes, elephants, tigers, lions, and zebras.
Michael! Breakfast is ready,
yelled Mother.
Mother had cooked a tall stack of pancakes and a pile of crispy bacon. After placing two slices of bacon and three pancakes on Little Mikey’s plate, she poured syrup and melted butter on top. To wash down the pancakes and bacon, she placed a glass of milk next to his plate.
But Mikey wasn’t interested in eating. Not even the smell of bacon could take his mind off the colorful characters singing and dancing on his television screen.
Michael Vincent! You get down here right now, boy! Don’t let me have to call you again!
He kept watching television, kept singing and kept dancing. He was having so much fun that he didn’t hear the three loud knocks on his bedroom door.
KNOCK... KNOCK... KNOCK!
Mother opened the door and stood in the doorway with her hands on her hips and a frown on her face.
"Boy, if you don’t turn off that TV
