On a westbound flight, Rover trips over a treetop and goes into freefall. Wolf bumps his head, manages to climb but lands to recover anyway. In “Wolf in the New Dominican Republic” the pilot ends up in a tribe that survived Earthquakes. The locals think he is a gift from the Gods of the Sky. Leen Lefebre

Leen Lefebre grew up in West Flanders where she works at the Local Heritage Service. As a kid, she threw herself upon each book that was available. Later, she turned around and settled on the worldwide web. She then emerged as a true explorer of literature, music, and sports. Leen is a dreamer and a doer – and this is how her stories rose up as charming and lively fairy tales for adventurers of all ages. Leen is dromer én doener. Zo zijn ook al haar boeken ontstaan: verhalen voor avonturiers – jong en oud.

    MISSION #3

Wolf in the New Dominican Republic

Wolf was caught by the coldness, when he hung out the window with his tangled curly head. He looked up into the graphite-grey sky. With a deep sigh he turned around and walked back and forth through his room. Angry he shook his head. Why the hell? It was so damn unfair!

He struggled to understand why the Mother of Nature was targeting precisely them. Why had she stolen that bright, fiery sun from his people? The human being who lived here was just a little pawn in her idiotic game of chess. This made it almost impossible for them to provide their own food. They were vulnerable, from the very beginning!

Wolf locked his window and walked down the corridor. The medical office was surprisingly empty as he stepped through. With raised eyebrows he walked over the doorstep of the front door and went out towards the bustling building site.

Winter had emphasized that a one-off meal wouldn’t hurt. As long as they switched to the daily sobriety afterwards. Those tasty, colourful dishes were very well received, and awakened their sleeping taste buds. After all, a real fresh meal dated from bygone times!

Villagers had put the leftover stone tajines in the coolest place they could find: on the edge of the village somewhere near the
