About this ebook
Christmas is a time for family, particularly children who keep the magic of Christmas alive. What happens though when children become nasty and fight over the wrapped presents under the tree? Six cousins find out in the Town Beneath The Christmas Tree. In the spirit of Charles Dickens the cousins are placed into an unfamiliar, upside-down world, where they are forced to deal with, and rely on, each other. The journey begins with the heroine, nine-year-old Hailey Jade, landing in a winter wonderland where terror soon sets in, as she realizes she is all alone. Soon Hailey is joined by her older cousin, Isaiah. Together they recognize that the younger children have also been catapulted through time and space and are now missing and in danger. The race to find the younger children ends them up in the town beneath their grandfather's Christmas tree, where they find the true meaning of Christmas and the love for one another.

The Town Beneath the Christmas Tree - JR Wirth
Excerpt from The Town Beneath the Christmas Tree
I scanned the horizon and quickly realized that I was somewhere unlike anywhere I had ever been—or seen. It was like when someone is caught in an unpleasant dream, the air seemed heavy and the landscape slightly blurred. Confused, I looked around for a clue as to what had happened, or where I’d landed. Though a bit foggy, I knew one thing for sure, I was in a winter wonderland, yet the temperature felt warm and inviting.
I first closed and wiped my eyes. I then shook my head, hoping I’d awake from this mind-numbing dream. When I opened my eyes, however, I was still sitting and viewing an endless field of snow.
Unsure of how to react in such a predicament, I asked myself, So what are you going to do now, Hailey?
With a tilt of my head, I shrugged and answered myself, I don’t know, Hailey. But, really, like where the heck are you?
This can’t be happening, I thought. Trying to knock some sense into myself, I hit my head with the palm of my hand.
Nothing changed.
Both frightened and curious, I stood to get a better look around. After several moments of staring at nothingness, I found nothing to help make sense of the situation. So, I did what any nine-year-old would do in my position, I shook my head again, and whispered, Merry freaking Christmas, Hailey.
It is Christmas, isn’t it? I quickly considered. I then did a quick double-check of my clothes. Realizing I was still wearing my new Christmas clothes, I leaned and examined the outfit. First things first, I remember thinking. So, before any further thoughts or actions, like the proud fashionista I am, I delicately adjusted my brown hairband. I then straightened the brown leggings that perfectly matched my new brown-and-beige holiday dress. The dress fit my petite frame marvelously and brought out the highlights in my brown hair. All-the-while, the combination of the three made my brown eyes pop. After all, I thought, continuing my internal discussion, you never know when you’re going to meet someone important.
Feeling put together, in a fashion sense that is, I felt a bit more secure, yet very much in anxiety-mode. In hopes that it might help reduce the terror brewing within my delicate bones, I began to sing the lyrics to Winter Wonderland.
The choice of songs must have had something to do with my surroundings. And the fact that Grandpa plays an endless stream of Christmas songs—like forever! The musical attack starts just before Thanksgiving and lasts well beyond New Year’s Eve.
