It was still light outside when the auction ended and Robert and James-SZ-329 took the elevator down to their death. Attached to the side of a skyscraper, the elevator was made almost entirely of reinforced glass, and Robert fully exploited the view it gave him. The sun was slowly falling behind Sector A and outlined its vast skyline with a blood orange glow. Robert proudly looked down from the 257th floor, marveling at the city he helped build. The metropolis was almost completely at his feet, and that’s how Robert liked things.
