INTRODUCTION
Many people might start out an Intro to The Black Child
by probably giving you a summary of the first book, but not me. Nope. Once you have read The Black Child, you will realize what has truly changed and what can we change in America. Many of us will look at things differently. Not just things, but, people meaning race. I will give you a fact this book is not about race. This book I call the magical eye-opener has a big twist that none of you will expect!
You see, this book is told by the daughter of the parents, but it won’t feel that way. Abraham the protector of the family is not just a regular, amazing person, but, a man who truly loves his family. Though in these times there was a forced separation that made their bond even stronger. The mother by the name of Elizabeth is a strong black woman who is also brave, but, fearful because of what happened to her and her loved ones.
The mystery and magic that happened inside of the black child caused them to get back what was once taken from them. You cannot fall in love with this family eagerly anticipating their next adventures, feeling their emotions, laughing along with jokes, and just feeling satisfied when you close the book. That is what a truly classical and historical book is, and the Black Child is truly classical and historical.
Abraham is this person who has this power that’s given to him. There are some parts of the story that will cause you to bite your nails in suspense. Wondering what will happen to the family or will they be stuck in this forever. These characters seem like such real people that you almost feel their emotions. You can feel their anger, happiness, embarrassment, confusion, pride, and annoyance, their energy is so strong.
Over the past century’s my people have been destroyed though I felt guilty because I couldn’t stop it. As I watch the pain from my mother's eyes drop to the ground as she watches my father neck hanged bent from the tree. I scream to the sky give me a chance to live another life. So that I can see that there was a change in my future. I lived a
