Chastity Adams

Chastity Adams was born on May 31, 1982 in Wilson North Carolina. She grew up in the small town Stantonsburg, North Carolina. She was raised by her grandmother, Josephine Jacob Johnson. Because of her shyness, the things that she wanted to express but could not say seemed to come out easier on paper. And when she was eleven years old her grandmother bought her a diary as a Christmas gift. Which Chastity soon realized that not only was writing fun, it was also therapeutic, and there was power in putting a pen to paper. She immediately fell in love with the passion of being able to creatively express herself. Her writing started out simple with diary entries and poetry. When she got to high school and became involved in relationships, drama, sex, all the trials teenagers go through, she began recording these events in the form of short stories, pulling inspiration from friends and classmates, along with her own personal experiences which brought her stories to life. After the passing of her grandmother on December 3, 1999, Chastity started writing more and more, sometimes all day, writing was her outlet from the pain she constantly felt as she tried to adjust to life without her grandmother. Chastity Adams started out as a self-published author under the pen name Miss Radiance pushing her work with the help of amazon.com, Createspace, and Kindle Direct Publishing. She did this for two years until she signed with G Street Chronicles in January 2015. This deal opened doors to a new reading market for her, and also made it possible for her to meet, get to know, and be inspired, by her now Mentor Best Selling Author of The Pussy Trap Series...NeNe Capri. No longer affiliated with G Street Chronicles and back on her grind as an independent author, she felt it was time for a new, sexier, more edgy and mature brand so Chastity Adams was born. She has currently released her first of many novels to come. Her first erotic romance titled Treacherous Desire is available on amazon.com and Queencitybullies.com. She is also working on her next release Unsacred Matrimony, schedule to be released this fall, as well as many other literary works opportunities. Chastity Adams is dedicated to becoming an all-around literary business woman. Her career is her passion so if she could choose one thing to do for the rest of her life, writing would definitely be it. When you have something that you love and it completes you, like writing does for Chastity Adams there's nothing that can compare to that type of joy and happiness. Although she is very shy and still at times struggles with expressing herself verbally, something magical happens when she puts her pen to paper. Everything she wants to say and everything she feels oozes out. Chastity Adams is a single mother of one little girl, who is the light of her world, her ultimate pride and joy. Chastity Adams writes because of the love and passion she has for her craft, her main purpose is to entertain, take away stress and anxiety, or just brighten up someone else's day with her characters and the stories they tell. Please join Chastity Adams on her journey and enjoy the many blessings as they unfold.

Gangsta Lovin' 4 The Price of Fame - Chastity Adams

    CHAPTER 2

The next morning Luke was awakened by his cell phone vibrating.

What’s up, Mackenzie? he said yawning and stretching.

Why the hell do I have to hear about our son being a car accident on TV, Luke? Mackenzie fussed.

Mackenzie, it’s been a long night. So, excuse me for not making you my number one priority, Luke smartly replied.

You still could’ve let me know, Luke.

Okay, baby you’re right. Luke didn’t want to argue anymore. How’s my baby girl doing?

She misses her father. How is Cassie, she alive or dead?

Ha funny she’s alive, but in a coma. They removed the baby through C-section.

Oh, well, I guess Lauren and I will see you later?

    It’ll probably be a while.

There you go putting us off again.

Mackenzie, if you can’t understand what’s going on, there’s no need for me to bother explaining it. Luke hurriedly ended the conversation.

It was way too early, and he was going through too much to deal with Mackenzie’s insecurities. When he returned to the waiting room his mom, dad, Sheryl, siblings, and Courtney were all there. Luke was so anxious to see the doctor, he couldn’t sit down, he just paced the floor. When Doctor Grayson finally walked in Luke didn’t give her a chance to speak before bombarding her.

Doc please give me some good news, Luke pleaded.

Luke, Chastity’s condition hasn’t changed, she’s had no function in her brain. By the state of California, she’s certified brain dead, Doctor Grayson said sadly.

What does that mean? Deborah asked.

That means we need to take her off the ventilator. Usually, a brain injury like hers never heals or it results in permanent damage. I wish I could give you other options.

Okay…what…what about Cassie and my sons? Luke asked holding his hands over his head.

Isaiah is still fighting a good fight. Luke Jr. is getting tests done the cardiologist will update you when it’s over. Cassie’s still in the coma, but she’s stable. Luke, I need you to sign the paperwork to take Chastity off the ventilator. Once again I am so sorry. Doctor Grayson shook Luke’s hand.

Can my family and I say goodbye to her first? Luke asked.

    Sure.

After everyone said their goodbyes, Luke stayed holding Chastity’s hand, watching sadly as she was taken off the ventilator. When he heard the flatline his eyes filled with tears, when they pulled the sheet over her head and he had to let go of her hand, the tears streamed down his face. They decided to donate her organs. Then they had her body moved to a secluded morgue where she’d stay until Cassie had a chance to say goodbye.

A few days later, Luke arranged for Cassie, Lil’ Luke and Isaiah to be transferred into the same private room. He was drifting off to sleep when Sasha walked in with balloons and teddy bears. He stood and greeted her with a hug, then rubbed her belly.

    Thanks for coming, Luke said.

Sasha could tell Luke’s emotions were getting the best of him. She just held him and rubbed his back. I didn’t think shit was this serious?

Chastity’s gone and the rest of them are still critical, Luke said wiping his eyes with the bottom of his shirt.

Oh God, what are you going to do?

That’s the million-dollar question, Sasha. Luke shrugged.

I’m so sorry Luke. Sasha kissed his forehead. Where’s your fiancé?

Home mad that I’m here instead of with her and Lauren. Luke exhaled deeply.

Sasha turned and looked at the incubator behind her. Is this you and Cassie’s baby boy? She figured now was a good time to change the subject.

    Yeah. Luke smiled proudly.

    He’s adorable.

I’m hoping he’ll be outta that box soon.

He will be Luke he looks strong. How’s Lil’ Luke?

He should make a full recovery.

Good, I’ll be praying for you and your kids, Luke. Luke just nodded as Sasha hugged him once more and left the room.

Luke spent Christmas day in the hospital praying over Cassie, Lil’ Luke and Isaiah. He didn’t care that his mama was cooking all her special holiday recipes, or that he hadn’t eaten in three days, but he did miss his baby girl. He called Mackenzie to see if she’d bring Lauren to the hospital.

No, she doesn’t need to be around sick people. Mackenzie refused.

Mackenzie she won’t be around no one except her brothers and Cassie, Luke argued.

No Luke, you can see your daughter when you bring your ass home.

Luke wasn’t in the mood for an argument. Okay, Mackenzie kiss my daughter and tell her daddy loves her.

Oh, you don’t love me? Mackenzie sucked her teeth.

Right now, you’re giving me too much damn attitude.

Whatever; for better or worse remember?

We ain’t married yet remember. Luke coldly reminded.

Yeah and if you keep this up, we won’t be either. Mackenzie snapped.

That’s the least of my worries, right now, Mackenzie.

Luke hung up, he didn’t have time for her bratty ass ways. Later that evening Deborah brought him a plate. He hadn’t realized how hungry he was until he saw the food. Once he finished his meal, he went back to the chapel to say a quick prayer for Cassie and his kids, before calling it a night.

    CHAPTER 3

Cassie’s eyes fluttered open and it took a minute for her to realize she was in the hospital. She tried to sit up, but the pain knocked her back down. She immediately thought about the children and grabbed her stomach as memories rushed back. She panicked when she felt the emptiness in her stomach.

Oh my, God…oh my, God! She panicked and pressed the red button beside her bed repeatedly.

Miss Willard, relax and don’t try to get up. A nurse rushed into the room. How are you feeling?

My head hurts, Cassie said wanting answers.

Well, your headaches are normal after awakening from a coma. Miss Willard, you were in an accident.

I was in an accident! How long have I been here?

About three weeks, the nurse responded. That’s why you need to relax, stress can send you back into a coma.

Where are my babies! Cassie said angrily.

Miss Willard, we can’t tell you anything, right now. The nurse said more adamantly. But I will contact your doctor.

    ****

Luke was leaving his daily stop at the morgue to check on Chastity when he was bombarded by reporters.

Young Luke, how is Cassie since the accident? Is she still in a coma…is she paralyzed? A white woman asked.

It’s been said that one of your children died is that why you’re here? A black guy asked.

Is it true that you canceled your entire tour? Are you worried about the backlash to your career? a black woman asked.

Luke felt that after three weeks his fans deserved some answers and he wanted to get rid of the reporters as quick as possible. Okay…everybody one at a time please, Luke said. First of all, Cassie’s not dead or paralyzed. Our baby is getting stronger. Lil’ Luke is stabilized. Yes, Chastity…our daughter did die, and we’re all devastated. Luke choked back the tears trying to force their way out of his eyes. As for the tour…right now it’s all about my children and my family. I’m sorry to all the fans, I’ll find some way to make it up to you. At the moment, however, I’d appreciate it if you all give me and my family space to heal. Thank you!

After all the reporters started dispersing, the black one that asked about the tour stayed behind. She was five-nine, had beautiful dark-skin, black shoulder length hair, light brown eyes, pearly white teeth, and a nice body.

You’re Naomi from channel seventeen, right? Luke smiled.

Yeah…and you’re, Young Luke, Naomi replied.

You already knew that Miss Naomi. I gotta go, cause you’re a reporter and I hate my bizness being all over the streets.

I won’t put your business out, promise. Matter of fact, I’m off duty as of now, Naomi said turning off the camera.

What you want? I gotta get outta here.

Maybe we can hook up and get some drinks or something. Since I know you’re going through a rough time and I’m also going through a rough time as well, Naomi informed.

I’m sure whatever you’re going through doesn’t compare. Luke frowned.

Probably not, but I’m sure you can relate…my husband’s dying from cancer. She sighed hard.

Oh…sorry, I know how rough those final days are. And I’ma be honest drinking ain’t gonna help. I know that from experience, Luke stated.

Oh, well maybe we can hook up for lunch and get you out of that hospital. You don’t look like you’ve slept since everything happened.

Actually, I haven’t I don’t wanna miss my babies waking up. These have been the longest three weeks of my life. Luke admitted.

Well let me help you make them better.

Oh, okay, straight to the point. That’s kinda sexy! Luke licked his lips.

Look I’ma let you go, but here’s my card if you wanna hook up. Even if it’s just to talk or have a shoulder to lean on.

Thanks, Naomi, but you need to be by your husband’s side. This is when he really needs you the most, Luke educated.

Okay, see you later, Young Luke, Naomi said.

I prefer to be called, Luke, Luke told her smiling.

    Okay…Luke!

When Luke arrived at the hospital, Doctor Grayson informed him that Cassie was coming out of her previous sedation.

Have you told her anything yet? Luke asked.

No, we’ve been waiting for you, Doctor Grayson said. Luke too much stress can trigger another coma.

    Luke nodded. I’ll remember that.

Luke entered the room, Cassie smiled when she saw him. While Cassie was sedated, they changed the room around and moved Cassie’s bed by the door, and the boys to the other side of the room still separated by blue curtains. Luke walked over to Cassie and kissed her forehead.

Damn…you scared us, Luke commented with relief.

Where’s my baby, Luke? Cassie cried.

Luke could hear the panic in her voice, so he held her hand.

He’s fine. Would you like to see him?

    Yes, please. Cassie nodded.

Luke went over to the other side of the room, careful not to leave the curtain open. Since Isaiah was finally able to be picked up, he lifted the incubator and cradled him. As soon as Isaiah felt himself in Luke’s arms, he opened his blue eyes. Luke looked down at him and kissed his forehead, then he carried him over to Cassie. Cassie cried when she saw the beautiful little person.

Thank you, Luke, Cassie said holding Isaiah close to her chest.

Thank you, you’re the reason he’s here, Luke complimented.

We’re both the reason he’s here. Cassie corrected. So, how’s Lil’ Luke and Chas?

Luke took a deep breath. Give me the baby Cassie we need to talk.

Luke, just tell me. Cassie eyed him closely.

Cassie, give me the baby and I’ll tell you, Luke repeated.

Cassie kissed Isaiah and handed him to Luke. Luke put the baby back in the incubator and walked back over to Cassie. Luke carefully explained everything that happened the night of the accident and afterward.

So…so…you’re telling me my daughter’s gone? Cassie’s voice raised several notches and tears filled her eyes. My baby’s gone and it’s…it’s my fault! Tears poured down her face. "God, no…please! I have to get out of here…I have to see my, baby!" Cassie was now sobbing and trying to get out of bed.

I can’t let you go anywhere, Cassie, Luke said.

My baby’s dead Luke…I want to see my daughter now! Cassie shrieked.

Luke wrapped his arms around her and held her close. Cassie, I’m sorry I know it hurts…but the baby’s gone. She’s been moved to the morgue and is waiting to be prepared for burial.

Nnnoooo…I want my baby back, Luke! Cassie cried harder and when she didn’t know how else to express herself, she started beating Luke in the chest.

He knew she was hurting and all he wanted to do was be there for her. After her breakdown, Cassie had to be sedated again.

Before Doctor Grayson left Cassie’s room, she advised Luke of one other important task. Luke, I believe it’s time to get the funeral together. Now that Cassie knows the truth, she needs that closure, so she can begin healing, Doctor Grayson said.

Will she be strong enough to endure the stress of a funeral? Luke asked.

Not today, but in a week or so she should be.

Okay, I’ll get on that asap.

Luke called his parents and Cassie’s mom to meet him at the same funeral home that conducted Ashley’s service. They immediately started planning the funeral arrangements. The next day they had Chastity’s body moved from the morgue to the funeral home. Luke wasn’t up to it emotionally, so, he let his parents and Cassie’s mom handle everything. He gave them his black card and advised them to make sure Chastity was sent home like a princess and they made sure to oblige his wishes.

    CHAPTER 4

You glad you’re getting out? Luke asked helping Cassie pack.

Luke, I’m being released then going straight to my baby girl’s funeral. Not exactly my idea of a happy occasion, Cassie said fighting back tears.

Luke pulled Cassie into his arms and held her gently since she still had staples from the C-section.

I wish I could take our baby boy home with us today, too, Cassie said looking sadly at Isaiah.

It’s probably for the best, today’s gonna be a crazy day.

When is little man going to wake up? Cassie asked pointing at Lil’ Luke.

I don’t know, but I’m starting worry. He’s been out for over a month, Luke said getting emotional.

I don’t know if I’ve said it yet, but I’m sorry Luke for causing all of this. Had I listened to my mother none of us would be going through the pain we’re going through, and I wouldn’t have to bury my baby today. Cassie’s tears ran down her face.

    Baby, don’t keep blaming yourself.

I’m fine, Luke, just ready to get this day over with. Cassie sighed.

Okay well, your mom brought your clothes to my house.

I ain’t going to your house, Luke. Isn’t wifey there?

She ain’t wifey yet, and you ain’t gotta worry ‘bout nothin’.

Whatever, I’m not in the mood for Mackenzie’s shit today.

I will keep her in check, promise.

After leaving the hospital they went directly to Luke’s house. When Luke entered the house with Cassie behind him. The smile Mackenzie had, quickly turned into a frown. Luke ignored her, took Lauren out of her arms and held her.

Daddy missed you, baby girl, Luke said kissing her.

Why don’t you bring your ass home, Luke, if you miss her so bad? Mackenzie snapped. Instead of staying with this bitch?

Luke you better get your girl, Cassie said rolling her eyes.

Mackenzie chill, Cassie’s had enough stress, Luke ordered.

Luke, I don’t give a fuck, she’s the one who caused all this. She just better hope Lil’ Luke’s gonna be alright.

You don’t give a damn about Lil’ Luke. If you did you would’ve come to visit him, Cassie said hitting a sore spot.

How dare you accuse me of not loving my son? If you loved him or Chastity you would’ve been more responsible.

Without warning, Cassie stepped from behind Luke and slapped Mackenzie as hard as she could.

Oh, hell nah! Mackenzie yelled trying to retaliate.

Luke stood between them, blocking her. Mackenzie calm the fuck down. Luke held Lauren with one arm, and Mackenzie back with the other.

Oh, so you ain’t just see her slap me, Luke? Mackenzie hollered.

Yeah, but you brought that on yo’ self. Now get upstairs and calm yo’ ass down. Luke chastised eyeing her sternly.

Mackenzie snatched Lauren from Luke’s arm, rolled her eyes at Cassie, went upstairs, and slammed the bedroom door.

I’m sorry, Cassie, I don’t know why she trippin’, Luke said.

Luke, I may not be perfect, but I loved that little girl with perfection every day, Cassie sobbed.

Luke pulled her into his arms and let her cry on his shoulder. I know, and I’m sorry, I’ma go talk to her. Your clothes are in the guest room.

Cassie headed for the guestroom and Luke went to handle Mackenzie. Mackenzie was putting Lauren in the crib when Luke walked in.

If you came in here to take up for her, I don’t wanna hear it, Luke. Mackenzie sucked her teeth and rolled her eyes.

What the fuck is wrong with you? You know how painful this is for her, Luke said angrily.

    She slapped me, Luke.

She shoulda, she’s gotta bury her daughter today. Or do you not give a fuck ‘bout that?

Luke, as far as I’m concerned Cassie’s just another bitch you fucked and knocked up. Mackenzie stood in front of Luke, hands on her hips and a frown on her face.

I never knew you was so cold-hearted and selfish. I don’t know what’s gotten into you Mackenzie, but you better get yo’ shit together.

I ain’t selfish, Luke, Mackenzie rebuttal offended.

Mackenzie I ain’t got time to argue wit’ you today. I’ma get dressed, then me and Cassie are going to our daughter’s funeral. I’d ask you to go, but I know you’re too damn stubborn to do that.

Mackenzie nodded. What would be the purpose of me going?

Unbelievable! Luke shook his head, grabbed his clothes, and went into the bathroom.

He showered, shaved and got dressed in his black suit and shoes. When he came out of the bathroom, Mackenzie was lying on the bed, reading a magazine. He kissed Lauren, grabbed his keys off the dresser, and went downstairs to wait for Cassie. He stretched out on the couch and decided to take a much-needed nap while he waited.

Luke…Luke! Cassie said shaking him out of his sleep.

You ready to go? Luke asked yawning.

Luke you need to get some rest today.

Yeah right, I can’t leave my babies.

I’ll stay with them tonight, Luke. Promise me you’ll get some rest, Cassie pleaded.

    I’ll think about it…let’s go.

    ****

Anxiety took over Cassie as the limo pulled into the church parking lot and she saw the white hearse. She got out of the car, and instead of getting in line like everyone else she froze and propped up beside the limo.

    You a’ight? Luke asked.

Luke, I can’t…seeing her like this means she’s really gone, Cassie cried with her voice breaking.

Baby, we gotta go in there, say goodbye and make peace with this, Luke advised sadly.

What am I going to do without her, Luke?

Cassie, we’re gonna get through this, Luke assured.

Cassie latched on to Luke’s arm as they entered his father’s church. Cassie immediately lost the feeling in her legs, when she saw Chastity’s open pink and white casket, that had Chastity’s name engraved in bold letters. She was holding her favorite white teddy bear, and she dressed in her favorite pink dress, with a white ribbon tied around her hair.

Oh God…my baby…my baby…my baby! Cassie cried resting her head on Luke’s shoulders.

Luke wrapped his arms around her and held her, as tears fell from his eyes. His father did the eulogy shortly after. The service ended after about an hour and continued at the cemetery. That’s when Cassie and Luke finally decided to speak.

First we’d like to thank y’all for showing love and support for us and our baby girl. Chastity was the sweetest child I’ve ever met. Living the rest of my life without her is going to be hard. Right now, I don’t know how I’ma make it. But, thanks again, words can’t express how grateful I am to all of you. Cassie started breaking down again.

Luke held her hand and took over. Like Cassie said Chastity was a great kid and we’re going to miss her tremendously. So, I ask that you’ll please keep us in your prayers. Thank You!

To close the funeral, everyone was given a final look at Chastity. Cassie laid on her chest and cried, until Luke finally pulled her away, so they could close the casket. He gave Chastity one final kiss on the forehead. As they slowly moved her down into the ground, everyone grabbed white roses from the bucket beside the grave and tossed them on top of the casket.

Are you going back to your house, your mom’s house, or mines? Luke asked Cassie as they were leaving the cemetery.

Can we go back to the hospital? Cassie said. I just really need to hold my baby, right now.

    Okay… Luke agreed.

As they were leaving Luke saw a familiar face standing beside his car. He smiled and embraced her.

I came to pay my respects, but I didn’t want to intrude, Naomi said. Cassie I’m so sorry for your loss! You had a beautiful little girl.

Thank you. Who are you? Cassie asked looking at Luke.

Luke smiled. My bad! Cassie this is, Naomi. Naomi this, Cassie.

Nice to meet you, Luke could use some new friends, Cassie said.

Naomi, what you been up too? How’s your husband? Luke asked.

They’ve given him less than a month to live, Naomi said.

You didn’t have to leave your husband to come here.

I wanted to be here. Plus, it gave me a reason to get out of that hospital, Naomi stated.

Well I hate to run, I gotta take Cassie to the hospital, Luke said.

Maybe we can hook up later, I need someone to talk to.

Well…I gotta be with my sons.

He’ll call you, Cassie interrupted smiling.

When they got in the car, Luke looked at Cassie like she was crazy. You know I’m tryna do right by, Mackenzie.

Luke, you’ve held it down for me and those babies for over a month. You need to go out. You’re getting skinnier, you’re exhausted, and going home to Mackenzie is only gonna cause more stress. I care about you Luke and today’s the first day I’ve seen you smile since I woke up from my coma. Cassie caressed the back of his neck.

Yeah, but she’s still married Cassie, Luke reminded.

Luke, you don’t have to fuck her just to hang out with her.

Alright…I’ll go if it’ll shut you up, Luke agreed.

When they got to the hospital, Luke kissed Lil’ Luke and laid his head on his chest.

Well his heart’s beating strong, so why hasn’t he woken up? Luke questioned to no one in particular. Come on Lil’ man, Daddy needs you to wake up, baby.

He’ll be alright, you need call Naomi and get out of here. Cassie pressured.

I will soon as I hold my other lil’ man.

Luke picked up Isaiah, kissed him and passed him to Cassie. Love you lil’ man, but daddy gotta go, blame yo’ mama.

Luke stepped into the hallway and called Naomi. She told him what room to meet her at. When he got to the room, he waited outside. When Naomi came out her face was flooded with tears.

    What happened? Luke asked.

He died, Luke…he died. Naomi sniffled.

I’m sorry. Is there anything I can do?

    Take me home… Naomi begged.

Okay, but what about yo’ car?

I’ll get it later, I have to get outta here, Luke.

Okay. Luke wrapped his arms around her and escorted her out the hospital.

Naomi showed Luke how to get to her house. She lived in Baldwin Hills in a three-bedroom condo, in the parking lot was a silver Range Rover.

So, you make a lot of money exploiting entertainer’s lives, huh? Luke joked trying to lighten the mood.

I take my career seriously, Luke. And unlike other reporters, I get the facts before actually releasing anything, Naomi explained.

I ain’t mean to offend you, Luke apologized.

When they entered her house, Luke could tell she hadn’t been there much as clean as everything was.

Make yourself at home, I’ma shower and get some rest, Naomi informed.

Do you mind if I go to sleep for a minute? Luke asked.

    No.

After Naomi headed upstairs, Luke laid back on the couch and was knocked out. When Naomi got out of the bathroom, put on her bathrobe, and went back into the living room to check on Luke.

Damn that’s one fine ass man, Naomi said out loud. She walked over to Luke, kneeled in front of him, and unzipped his pants. I’m sorry, Walter!" Naomi pulled Luke’s manhood through the zipper and started stroking it.

Umm… Luke moaned opening his eyes. Nah, Luke said once reality kicked in. You…you gotta stop. Luke tried to back away, but before he could, Naomi was deep throating his inches.

Aaahhh…fuck… Luke moaned grabbing her head helping her move up and down on his dick.

The harder she sucked the further into her mouth he pushed. He didn’t want to release himself inside her mouth, so he snatched it out, grabbed the head, and exploded in his hand.

    Satisfied now? Luke asked smirking.

I’ll be more satisfied if you finish what I started. Naomi opened her bathrobe exposing her naked sexiness.

Naomi you don’t wanna get caught up with me. I have too much baby mama drama already. In the morning, you’ll feel like shit. I ain’t gonna let you do that, and I can’t cheat on my fiancé. Naomi, you need to wait til’ you’ve grieved your husband properly before you get involved with anyone…specially me. Luke got up and headed for the hall bathroom to wash his hands.

Come on Luke I just gave you the best blow job I had to give. I gotta get something for that? Naomi begged.

Baby, you fine and I’d love to fuck the shit outta you…but I can’t. I’ll do something else, though. Luke returned from the bathroom, then guided Naomi down on the couch, dropped to his knees and parted her legs.

He inserted his finger and rotated it, then let his tongue go to work. She started clawing his back and slowly gyrating his face. He inserted his finger deeper inside her and increased the speed of his tongue until she clenched her legs around his neck, letting out a loud scream of passion, as she climaxed.

    CHAPTER 5

Where you going? Mackenzie asked as Luke came downstairs dressed in a black suit.

Mackenzie, I told you last night I was going to a funeral wit’ a friend. Luke took Lauren from her arms, kissing her.

You coming home after the funeral?

No, I’m going to the hospital.

    So, they released Isaiah, right?

Not yet, he’s getting released today. That’s another reason I gotta go to the hospital.

Luke, I know you’re going through a lot, but I’m tired of being alone every night.

Mackenzie, I’ve spent the last two nights wit’ you, so don’t start whining.

Mackenzie exhaled deeply. Fine do you Luke from now on I’ma do me.

Luke kissed Lauren and gave her back to Mackenzie. He leaned in to kiss Mackenzie, but she backed away.

Whatever, Luke replied, then turned and walk out the door.

He picked Cassie up from her mother’s house because she wanted to pay her respects as well.

Why you still look like hell? Cassie said getting in the car dressed in all black.

It’s hard to get rest when Mackenzie’s around. You look great by the way, Luke answered.

How long are you going to put up with her, Luke? Cassie looked at him as she fastened her seatbelt.

Cassie, I love Mackenzie, I’m tryna do right by her.

Cassie nodded understanding what Luke was saying. For the remainder of the drive, they rode in silence. When Luke arrived at the church. He escorted Cassie into the church, then went back outside to wait for the other pallbearers. After helping set up the casket and flowers, Luke waited outside until the limos arrived.

Hey, how you feelin’? Luke asked hugging her.

I’m doing as good as I can, Naomi said. This is my mother, Natalie. Luke figured that since they were the spitting image of each other, except for the grey hair.

Most of the people who came to mourn Naomi’s husband were white, which made Luke wonder until they got ready to view the body. Naomi’s husband Walter was a white man, with no hair, and a clean, pale face. During the burial, Cassie decided to wait in the car, to give Naomi and Luke some privacy.

Thank you again for everything, Luke, Naomi said as they walked back to the parking lot.

As they talked and walked, Luke wrapped his arm around Naomi’s shoulder, and she wrapped her arms around his waist.

Why you ain’t tell me your husband was white? Luke asked.

I didn’t think it mattered, your baby mama’s white, Naomi pointed at the car towards Cassie.

"It don’t matter! And like you said Cassie’s white and a cool chick who always got my back even when I fuck up."

So, why aren’t y’all together, Luke? Naomi inquired.

Cause, I’m engaged Naomi, you know that.

Yeah, I know, but are you happy? Naomi stared into his eyes waiting for a response. Think about that cause life’s too short to be stuck in a toxic relationship.

Luke walked Naomi back to the car and hugged her. Then he and Cassie went to the hospital.

We’re still waitin’ Lil’ Man open your eyes, Luke said kissing Lil’ Luke.

He’s going to come back to us, Luke, Cassie said wrapping her arms around his waist, resting her head on his back.

I know. Luke turned facing Cassie as they continued to embrace.

Their eyes locked, and they were about to kiss but were interrupted by the sound of Isaiah as he woke up.

Well…our boy’s up. Luke stuttered trying to contain his hormones.

Um…yeah we better get him ready to go home. Cassie exhaled deeply.

Two hours later, Isaiah was finally discharged. Luke fastened him in the car seat, carried him to the car and checked twice to make sure he was safely secured in the backseat.

So, we going back to yo’ mom’s house? Luke asked.

Yep, Cassie responded peaking at Isaiah who’d fallen asleep.

When you think you gon be ready to go back home?

I don’t think I can, Luke. The memories, the quietness, the loneliness…I’m not ready to face that, right now. Cassie sighed.

I understand, that’s why I want you and Isaiah to stay wit’ me.

Luke, I can’t, I’d hate to have to slap wifey again.

That’s my house, Cassie, I want my son close to me. If Mackenzie acts stupid, I’ll handle her. Besides after the way you slapped her, I don’t think she’ll come at you crazy again.

I gotta think about it, Luke.

Before leaving Cassie’s mom’s house, Luke pulled out his wallet and gave Cassie one of his black cards.

Luke you don’t have to do that. Cassie pushed his hand away.

Cassie, I gotta make sure you and my Lil’ man straight. Matter of fact, tomorrow, I’m taking you to get a car. So, y’all can get around safely.

Cassie was flattered beyond words. I don’t know what to say, Luke! Cassie shrieked hugging him.

Just take care of my Lil’ man.

When he returned to the hospital, the nurse was checking Lil’ Luke’s vitals and assured Luke once again he’d be waking up soon. Luke stretched on the couch in the room and watched reruns on T.V. until he fell asleep. While he was sleeping, he had a dream about Ashley, and it felt so real. She was massaging his shoulders and talking to him as he looked into her eyes.

"I miss you so much, Ashley," he said.

"I miss you too, but you know I’m always with you," Ashley said kissing his forehead.

"What about our baby boy, are you with him?"

"Absolutely, you don’t have to worry about him. As soon as you stop worrying about him, he’ll be alright. As for your relationship, time will let you know who you’re supposed to be with. Be prepared for a lot of drama in the meantime. However, I will tell you that your soul mate has always been by your side, but you have to open your eyes and realize that for yourself. Go with your heart Luke, trust God, stop worrying and keep the faith." Ashley kissed his lips and with a blink of an eye, she was gone.

Luke woke up, feeling refreshed, he decided to do what Ashley said and not worry. Morning soon came, and he started getting a flood of
