About this ebook
It's Friday night and hardworking cowboys and ranchers from all around Ft. Worth come to The Lone Star for a cold brew and someone warm to dance with. Lucky for them, one table is always reserved for Bailey Rose and her friends who come here to unwind and maybe to get wound up by a good-looking guy with a big smile and bigger rodeo buckle.
My life as a lawyer leaves little time for a personal life. I divide what time I have between two places, the ranch where I board my horse, Pollack, and the Lone Star Honky-Tonk because I can ogle Troy Campbell both places. Troy is a well-respected horse trainer, and I won’t lie, I’d let him train me anytime, anywhere. ~ Caroline

EXTRA OLIVES
I wave at my friends as I make my way through the Friday night crowd at the Lone Star Honky-Tonk on the outskirts of Fort Worth. I’d been tempted to stay home, too tired after the week I’ve had at work to socialize. Then an image of him popped, unbidden, into my brain like a shot of adrenaline. So, here I am, dead on my feet, but wired, weaving between boisterous groups all here for one purpose—to let off steam and have a little fun doing it.
Girls’ Night Out is a tradition amongst me and my friends. Has been ever since we were old enough to set foot in the honky-tonk. That would be eighteen. Not legal to drink yet old enough to dance with a hot cowboy, or cowgirl, depending on your preference. I’ve been known to dance with a girl or two, but only when all the hot guys are taken. Lately, there’s only one hot guy I’m interested in.
As I settle onto one of the last empty stools at our usual table, I scan the crowd for him. He’s tall like so many of the guys here are, so picking one out from the crowd can be tricky.
My bestie, Charlotte, Charlie for short, leans in, nudging my shoulder. He’s over there.
I follow the direction she’s pointing, and sure ’nuff—there’s Troy Campbell in all his cowboy glory, talking with a bunch of guys gathered around a high-top table across the way. He’s facing away from us, but I’d know those broad shoulders anywhere. I’ve committed them to memory along with his trim waist, long legs, and firm, tight ass. A girl has to have fantasies, doesn’t she?
Tonight, he’s wearing a white Western dress shirt so crisply pressed I can see the creases in the sleeves from here. It’s all I can make out until the sea of bodies parts and I catch sight of his perfect ass clad in denim. The jeans are new enough to be a nice contrast to the white of his shirt, and oh my, the way they fit him should be illegal. It’s not. I know because I’m a lawyer and I’ve looked it up. As long as it’s covered, it’s legal. My stupid heart trips over itself trying to communicate with Troy. I know I’d give up my law practice to have Troy focus on me the way he does the horses he works with. I sigh, imagining his big hands stroking me, his deep voice pitched low for my ears only as he works his magic on me. It’s enough to make every lousy minute of my week evaporate like water in the desert.
I squirm on my stool. If he knew how he affects me, would he pay me any mind? I’m
