Orphans and the Nirvana - Mr. Rao

Chapter One – Follow Your Heart

‘Follow Your Heart Aditi! Follow Your Heart!’ echoed a haunting angelic voice that tripled a multiple times.

A pair of sky blue eyes opened little by little and slowly her lips, moved and her dimple was in mischief.

The vision was blurred and she could see faintly a figure standing next to her and soon her ears got occupied by ‘She is awake! Doctor she is awake!’ and the figure disappeared through the nearby door.

She got up with a great struggle and saw a monitor beeping next to her and out of nowhere appeared one by one.

The whole room was crowded who made way for a doctor who happens to be the M.D. of Abhaya hospital in Bangalore, India.

Her eyes populated to the M.D. Dr Jagadish’s flash light from a small and thin torch that beamed over the twelve year old, the flash light dimmed out.

‘Can you see me? Child?’ said Jagadish. She nodded

‘What is your name? Child?’ asked Jagadish with a sympathetic smile.

It struck like a lightning to her and then her mind went blank for which she searched and searched for an answer to the very question and sadly, the conclusion was same.

Jagadish looked at her with concern again, so did the other doctors ‘Can you remember or recall anything?’ He stood up and then ‘Everyone to the conference room’ he ordered and left the twelve year old in a hurry.

The room was sufficient for 62 doctors and lit by white light where Jagadish led and stood in front of a projector ‘Guess the time have come?’

The projector showed small molecules or in lame-man’s tongue-a small dots that were weird and were multiplying as fast as it could ‘What you see is the minute particles inside her blood, unlike ours, she has the blood that can heal 52 percentile faster than our or normal blood cells and flows 76 percentile faster to the heart than ours. Her blood is unique as her DNA,’ now the projector showed three ladders twisting around each other ‘Her DNA has three strands than the two that a normal human has’ this wooed the crowd and then set them in dilemma, a state of confusion.

‘But sadly, she has lost all her memory and we can’t know whether she could recall or if at all she can’t recall any of her past?’ said Jagadish ‘Since, we don’t have anyone who could claim her, we could run some tests, diagnostics with a full ledged research? As she is the answer to a bright future?’

One doctor among the crowd was tall, white and had short hairs with a rectangle glasses made of black frame ‘I protest, she is just a child, a small kid who is terrified and in shock, we can’t use her as a lab rat, especially in this condition?’ said RUCHI GUPTA

Jagadish replied ‘There is no one out there to claim her as a friend or family, this is all she got, we will live her free but only in our labs’ was Jagadish determined.

But Ruchi Gupta almost shouted ‘She does, she had a ring in her possession’ she showed the ring to all the other doctors and it seemed as she was addressing it to someone, someone who wasn’t among the doctors which surprised everyone.

‘That’s just a ring, a ring that doesn’t signify anything’ dismissed Jagadish and left the room.

They weren’t the only ones in the conference room, way behind those rooms was the small twelve year old listening to every word ‘They will turn me into one of their research pets’ she thought hard for two straight minutes ‘I have to run..... I seriously have to run’ and then before leaving, she got a glimpse of her ring that was left behind.

She took the ring and then while over watching the distance between the window and the outside floor, she was distanced for ten feet from the outer grass that made itself for a lawn. She jumped as soon as she heard the same angelic voice ‘Jump Aditi’

She ran, and ran and ran without looking back for 0.7 kms she ran at a stretch and now was totally exhausted. From those woods she emerged with one thought ‘ I am hungry’. For her luck there was a small festive going on with stalls in a huge arch that read ‘THE INDIAN MELA’ it was an exhibition of food and clothes filled with thousands and thousands of people of all kind everywhere.

She was desperate on losing the hospital gown but she didn’t have another to wear.

The Mela was filled with high energy and vibe, it was infectious and highly addictive.

There were chatters, laughter’s, mischievous, joyous and at the 43 stall as it was filled with clothes of all types on hangers and below the seventh table on the 43 stall was the twelve year old. The stall was filled with one hundred and two customers. These customers were busy tweeting among themselves.

The twelve year old took the initiative as to her advantage as she stole a dress, few minutes after, she mixed herself into a crowd, she was now wearing a black slim fit jeans and a full sleeve black shirt and after one minute and eight seconds, she stole another shades or glasses for her eyes.

There was a small pool of water on the floor that reflected a beautiful fair face with pink lips, a deep dimple, straight jet black hairs and out of them all that stood the most of her was her fair moon face and her sky blue eyes ‘This is how I look, this is how I look!’ she admired ‘And now I am hungry’

She pick pocketed a few apples from the nearby customers basket and filled her tummy mildly

She couldn’t recall anything and out in the middle of the crowd she saw a familiar face and then their came the same gushing voice within her ‘Run Aditi! Run! Run Aditi!’

Chapter Two – Friends For Family

Smashing herself through the woods, bushes, she gushed and rushed twitching a few inches of the woods lying everywhere in the bushes.

For two minutes and three seconds she continued running and then she halted turning back a multiple times making sure she wasn’t followed.

She was now taking her breath at short intervals than usual and while catching her breath standing on the highway, she heard those dark footsteps coming closer and closer. The same six foot figure – the same face housed out form the mist of the fog, those laminating eyes through those spectacles shined so bright the twelve year old started to run but this time her legs were withhold by a pair of arms that had come out of the highway which gripped her tightly.

‘It’s Ok! chill, its ok, I am your friend’ said Ruchi Gupta calming the twelve year old and slowly the magical arms dissolved in to street setting the twelve year old free who was perplexed and lost knowing nothing of doing next.

‘I am your guardian and protector’ smiled Ruchi Gupta that lighten the twelve year olds tension and now in a confusion ‘your face, you remind me of your mother’

‘My.......My? Mother?’ sadly the twelve year old couldn’t recall any face or anyone as her mother.

‘Yes, Aditi, your mother Andrea Agostis, you have her eyes and your fathers dimple’ smiled Ruchi with tears in her eyes and gave a big huge hug to Aditi.

‘My names Aditi?’ asked the twelve year old to herself a dozen times.

‘Yes doll you are, you are the daughter of the two bravest Divine Borns in the history of Four Waters’ triumphed Ruchi but unfortunately nothing rang a bell in Aditi’s mind.

What is she talking? How does she know me? thought Aditi for herself but with no answers yet again Should I trust her? Why is she? Wait? The ring? thought Aditi harder and harder ‘You knew that I was standing there, you wanted to make me take the ring and really are you on my side?’ asked Aditi firmly.

‘Since the day you were born!’ said Ruchi Gupta in pride.

‘What?’ was Aditi who was lost more than ever.

‘Your mother and I were friends since we were six years Aditi’ opened up Ruchi Gupta which made Aditi a bit calmer and yet no face came up in her mind or in front of her eyes, she was blank again.

‘Why are you helping me?’ Aditi shot straight forward.

‘Because you are the only hope of FOUR WATERS and the one who restored peace to the Divine Borns’ said Ruchi with pride.

Aditi couldn’t understand anything and Ruchi knew to which ‘I am not going to take you by force, it’s up to you to come with me. If you do, I promise all your questions will be answered.’

Aditi took forty four seconds to reply with acceptance through a nod.

Ruchi whistled to which a Royal Enfield’s best cruiser bike known as thunderbird 500 came rushing towards and halting with a screech in front of Ruchi who adored herself with shades and then both of them cruised at a speed of 120 on the Bangalore’s best highway, further down the woods

Aditi didn’t knew why she accepted but something inside her knew that was the right choice.

‘Follow your heart, Aditi’ haunted the same voice where her hairs brushed against the speedy wind and she gazed at the stars feeling the windy breeze all around her with those questions ‘Who am I? Who is she? Why am I trusting her? Where in the hell am I?’

Cruising on the cliffs of a rusty mountain, Ruchi was fast and yes ! Damn fast who never slowed down not even a bit.

After twenty two minutes and ten seconds they got off the cliff and now were travelling on a full burnt 10 acres of land and at the centre lied a small cottage, a cottage of silver with long and thick trees surrounding it. There was a mild smoke that oozed out through the chimney.

‘Aditi? Welcome home’ greeted Ruchi Gupta knocking the door with a gentle smile. Aditi was confused and overwhelmed.

As the door opened slowly with a lot of creaking here and there, and from the inside came three twelve year old hugging Aditi as tightly as they can without giving room, even to breathe.

Aditi was lost and didn’t know how to react, she was in her own universe – a place filled with questions, questions without answers Should I trust Ruchi? Should I trust her? And who are these three? and the voice rang ‘Yes, Aditi, Yes!’

Aditi was good at wearing a mask that cleverly concealed all her question and any other negative expression but one could clearly make out that she seemed to be a bit lost, gravely

The others exchanged some terrifying looks with each other, soon Ruchi cleared the room of the doubts ‘she has lost all her memory’ with disappointment.

The three looked at each other again and again then lightly hugged Aditi again, all the three together

Room was exaggerated with deep silence and everyone looked at everywhere except at each other’s face, next came the food to which Aditi ate without a second thought.

‘Three years of hunger ‘ said one among the three a bit worried at her speed of satisfying her belly.

‘I am August Melody Rain introduced the one with the cat eyes, a medium sized black pony hairs, slim fit body but not skinny, quick wit and a charming cheek with a notorious and at the same time with a mischievous smile. One could easily say that he was naughty and playful with no seriousness at all

‘I am Eve Valarie Noon’ with strong green eyes, a long fair face with a small pink lips and the tallest among the two along with half wavy and half straight thin and soft brown hairs. She had that fearless catchy voice and with that strength of her green eyes which had that rare power of penetrating through one’s eyes.

‘I am Iona Love Grace’ said the shortest among the lot. She had a round fair face with her eyes covered both in maroon full moon spectacles without any frame just sitting on her nose and in front of her eyes. She had long silk black hairs on to her left covering her left ear and then shortest layer of hairs on to her right with her ears giving room to and place for five small safety pins pierced and locked. She had bright red lips and tears running down her frameless glasses.

‘Aila!’ said August with his famous catchphrase ‘Why doll? Give us the most shocking news every time we come face to face?’ mischievous August.

Aditi couldn’t digest anything as everything was happening so fast and was Should I trust them? Who are they? Why do they know me?

‘We are four friends from birth Aditi, we are family’ finally opened up Eve to which Iona tried to stop Eve before ‘No, Iona? She has every right to
