About this ebook
Wm. Carter Aikin
Wm. Carter Aikin (PhD, University of Notre Dame) chairs the Department of Philosophy and Religion at Blackburn College. In addition to his research in Christian ethics, he has worked for several years on the concept of vocation in the Judeo-Christian tradition. Specifically, his interests are in how "calling" can reshape the discourse in ecumenical and interfaith ethics, and how institutional vocation can revitalize the mission and identity of church-related colleges and universities. Aikin is ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and has served in congregations in North Carolina, Indiana, and Nebraska. Aikin grew up in the mountains of Colorado, and currently lives with his wife and two sons in southern Illinois.
