For a day he had managed to resist the lure of writing back to Sam but sitting on the sofa the next evening, even with Hannah sitting so close to him, he gave up.

'Dear Sam. I really loved the time I spent with you and Anise the other day and I have thought long and hard about it all and I know that I want to do this.

I'm not sure what the situation is, what happens now I mean, but I want to take this forward so very much!

Please at least give me a chance to prove that to you.

In case you are interested, I am free tomorrow all day. I should be working here but I can make sure that I keep up with it and still have most of the day free.

He quickly hit send before he chickened out and looked over at Hannah. She was engrossed in the television programme and he looked at her, wondering yet again why he was 'doing this' to her. He had a feeling that whatever happened wasn't going to help his marriage in any way, yet selfishly he just couldn't help himself.
