Chapter 1

Welcome To The Family

Working tirelessly on the computer was a young woman of early 30’s – full of confidence and enthusiasm which could charm anyone. Awarded by many accolades in Canada, she was a role model for many. A happy married life, loving and caring daughter, successful career – she definitely had nothing to ask for.

While working in her office, there came her personal assistant.

Mam! Your daughter, Tiara, is here to see you. Should I send her in?

Yes sure, will complete this work later

A girl of 20 entered her room. With tears in her eyes, she straight away went to her mother, hugged her and started crying again.

Tiara! What’s wrong.

Her daughter kept crying and sobbing bitterly.

Atleast share my dear. What happened? asked her mother worriedly

Mom! Remember Ricky, my senior whom I liked a lot. He has all of a sudden stopped attending my calls and is not replying to my messages either. Today morning he asked me not to bug him. He is happy in his life and my calls and messages stress him out. Mom! I agree I often behaved immaturely but I never wanted to trouble him. I love him

Tiara! Take a glass of water. Will talk about it. But first, relax

Mom! You are not realizing how important he is for me. You seem to be taking it easy

Definitely not Tiara, I completely understand your feelings. And may be he is busy somewhere or needed some space and time, isn’t it

Mom! You have made me even more anxious. What if he is thinking of leaving me or will never contact me again. What will I do then ??? Mom, I love him. Please suggest me what should I do

Surely my child. Will definitely talk about it but before that please take some rest. Once you are fresh minded, will see what to do

Tiara finally left for home as her mother said. She took a deep sleep and woke up late evening. Her mother entered her room.

How you feeling now my dear !

Better! Where is Dad???

He has left for San Franciso for an urgent piece of work work, will be back in a week

Mom! You are such a fortunate person to have dad as your life partner. I too was hoping for such a loved life

"Tiara, don’t be upset. Understand life is all about ups and downs. The one who wins is the one who masters the art of brushing it off and moving on"

Mom! Its easy to say than doing. You have never been through this phase so certainly you won’t be knowing how it feels.

Hmmm … By the way after you left, I met a new joinee of our school. A sweet girl of my age. We happened to spend time together. She shared how she has been through different phases of her life which shaped her in a way what she is today and is happy for that. If you have time, would love to share her story with you.

Tiara, kept her head on her mother’s lap. Her mother while moving her hands down her hair said

So here’s how it all started

Late evening, everybody tensed around in the hospital. First delivery and that too caesarian, how could anyone think of them to stay calm. So far mother’s diet, health, medical check up and everything else was taken care of but then it was ‘ the moment ’, 4:46 pm and there came the nurse
