About this ebook
Christmas may never arrive when a forbidden virtual reality trip goes horribly wrong.
Rebecca’s parents have banned her from ever touching a set of virtual reality glasses again. But once an addict, always an addict. When Rebecca sees a pair of prototype VR glasses on her grandmother’s desk, she just can’t help herself.
The trip into the VR photo album of her grandmother’s Christmases past is entertaining until Rebecca encounters a hacker and the avatar of her great uncle Devlin, the black sheep of the family, who has sinister plans beyond altering a few photos in Grandma Elaine’s virtual album.
If Rebecca can’t escape the virtual world and warn her family in time, they won’t live to see another Christmas.
Escape into the world of Christmas future in this humorous short story by award-winning author and FanX presenter Robin Glassey as she draws on memories of Christmases past and weaves them into a futuristic story of the possibilities of virtual reality.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
CHAPTER ONE
Rebecca stepped into her grandmother's study, relieved to have the task of getting the chocolate pie recipe she'd been asked to find. While other teens were lounging around doing nothing on Christmas Eve day, she’d been forced to get up early and bake pies for the big dinner. It was supposed to be Christmas break, but instead, her parents were the ones getting the break—from her.
The sweet scents of cinnamon and nutmeg from the apple pies already baking in Grandma’s new oven drifted upstairs. Rebecca closed the study door and leaned against it, relishing the quiet room away from Poppa extolling the virtues of their new kitchen appliances and how they were so sturdy they could survive a nuclear holocaust.
But more importantly, Rebecca needed to escape her great aunts and their nosy questions about why she had bags under her eyes, was she eating properly yet, and what did she want to do with her life? Her sleeping and eating habits were none of their business. And Rebecca was a sophomore, not a senior. She had no idea what she wanted to do with her life yet. If she could, she’d spend the whole day in this room away from family, but even though Rebecca had basically been grounded for the last year, there was no way her mom was going to let her play the hermit today.
