The use of crystals in Wicca healing and other spiritual practice has become more and more popular in recent years due to the ease of spellcasting with them. With the growth in online shopping and next day delivery, it’s easier now than ever to browse and source crystals online and have them in your hands. As well as online shopping, crystals are stocked more and more by brick-and-mortar stores like at mainstream department stores, home and decor centers, new age outlets and specialty spiritual stores. Between these options, availability is less of an issue than ever in this day and age.

With the rise in popularity of crystals, so has Wicca grown into its own silent phenomenon. People from all corners of the world are discovering the wonderful way of life called Wicca. But what is Wicca? I believe any one single attempt at defining Wicca will fall flat, because of the many perspectives one brings when viewing and practicing Wicca. But here is nonetheless my personal definition.

Wicca is guided by the belief that everything is connected by the divine. Whether the divine is god, or spirits, or however you like to define your divine, humans, animals, nature and all are connected by this divinity. This perspective stems from its roots steeped in traditions based on witchcraft and paganism.

To Wiccans, god or the divine exists in everything, and that divinity connects all things together. No matter how self-important we may think we are, are no more important than a blade of grass or a bird in the sky. From there, the practice of Wicca in an individual’s life is unique. No two practicing Wiccans must live the same way or have the same rituals. In practice, this core belief in Wicca enables humans, as stewards of the divine, to channel intent to affect the world around us.
