Chapter One

As I closed my eyes I felt the beating of my heart, racing inside my chest. His breath, the wetness from his spit hit the side of my left cheek. I struggled to turn my head away, but it was so difficult. My biggest fear was not death, but what he may do to me. I wanted to scream but I couldn’t find the words to come out. Where did my voice go? Please come back? I needed someone to hear me. I needed someone to come recue me.

It felt like a lifetime, but it was only a few months that have passed. A few months when all this first began. A few months and three days when I first saw Him.

Him. He looked so handsome when he walked inside our building. I remember as he approached my glass round desk. The blue in his tie brought out the color in his eyes. His eyes were a sexy allure that had me mesmerized. His smile was infectious. Everything about him was wonderful.

And that smile, O the way he smirked at me when he asked if Ron was in. I had to catch myself from the innocent daydream I was having.

Huh, I’m sorry what did you say? I asked, as I looked up. He smiled again and said, I was asking If Ron was in".

I said O ok? yes, he is, what’s your name?

He replied in a soft voice. My name is Keith, Keith Johnson, I have a twelve o’clock appointment with him today.

I looked down on the calendar on the screen and I saw his name on the appointment software. Yes, there he was, Mr. Keith Johnson for 12 o’clock. I couldn’t hide the grin on my face as I directed him over to the hallway on the right side of me. He gave me another smile as he walked away. I watched as he took steps towards the side of my desk and then disappeared down the hallway.

I wished I was a fly on the wall in Mr. Ron’s office, but of course I had to get back to work. Several hours later, he reappeared as he crossed the atrium of our office building, He looked back at me as he reached the glass doors and silently
