Prologue

My eyes flutter open to the chirp on my phone. I've been a nervous wreck about securing these tickets. They have been so hard to come by lately and cost me a freaking fortune.

Yes! I shout so loud I'm sure my mother heard me from the other end of the mansion. I get up, dancing sexily as I've secured a two-week vacation to Snowbush Falls!

Hell yes! I shout again. My puppy starts barking at me. Whoops Alley, I'm sorry, I whisper. I hurry over to my desktop and print out the tickets. My mother is wrapped in her new husband. She managed to score a wealthy lawyer, and he moved us into this lavish mansion. I'm twenty-two, so he's already mumbling about find me a husband because he's getting sick of me. He wants my mother to himself. I'm visiting Snowbush Falls in hopes to score some work. Then, I never have to come back. I'm not opposed to cleaning toilets, so long as I can get some type of work. If I can get a job there, they'll put me in an apartment.

I don't want to be married off. I know that if I decline any marriage proposal that lands on my step father's desk, I'm out on the street. So, if I beat him to it, problem solved.

We were poor for as long as I can remember. I've only been rich for two years. It's quite the lifestyle change. I went from couponing and rationing our meals for the month, to yoga classes and daily spa appointments. I can't even remember the last time I combed my own hair. Since my stepfather is in the press all the time, we have an appearance to keep. I must always keep myself up and socialize with the wealthy as much as possible. John, my stepfather, barely pays any attention to me.

I won't be traveling alone. I'm going with my two friends Ally and Elizabeth. They are my friends by default. The rich only hangs with the rich. If I were poor, these women would not give me a second glance. Elizabeth is engaged to be married, so this is our last girls’ weekend together. Ally is courting someone, but I don't think it's going anywhere. Rumor has it, she's dating a Shifter. I didn't even know they took girlfriends. He's not mated to her in anyway, so I really don't see why Ally has her hopes up about this relationship progressing. He's a truck driver, residing in Snowbush Falls. He's co-owner of the company, the only trucking company that can come and go into Snowbush Falls.  She's only interested in him because she believes he's her ticket into Snowbush Falls. I get it, he's practically loaded with money, and she's living off a trust fund that has an expiration date. Ally is looking for security. She brags about his bedroom skills all the time. I guess that is a blessing to have someone that can knock your boots off. I wouldn't know since I'm a what everyone considers an old virgin. I climb into my big comfy bed, holding the tickets close to my heart.

Chapter 1

Idrag my luggage to the train station. With the snow coming down, I'm so glad we aren't driving. It's a two-hour train ride, and it's booked to the brim. The girls paid for our first-class seats will I secured tickets into Snowbush Falls. I spent the most money, so it didn't seem like a fair deal. Ally was excited the most. Her boyfriend Shane said that he was doing a trucking route, but he'd be back in time to see her. She wanted to introduce him to us. She'd been to his Cabin a few times for an overnight rendezvous, but she never met any of his four siblings that lived there. She was a bit put off about it, and she was going to demand to get to know them during this visit. It's the Christmas tourist excursion in Snowbush Falls. They have been advertising more attractions this year. I'm excited to be a part of them all, especially since I'm hoping this is a one-way trip. It's nearly impossible to get a job on the land these days, but since I'm already there, I'm hoping something opens. 

Once I have my luggage stored away, I make myself comfortable, opening my laptop to check my
