Imagination — is the key to this unique kind of daily devotional book. Let’s call it the daily encounter book and you can do it in about fifteen minutes or less. After each day’s reading, I want you to take a short five-minute Flight of Fancy with Papa God and Jesus. Papa God is the supreme Imaginator…(I think I just coined a new word!) In our everyday lives, we’re forced to live in the reality of the moments of our day. But Jesus wants you to experience your world, Him, the Father, and the Spirit in new ways — using your imagination and your senses. Remember, your imagination is holy, ordained by God since He built it into you. Let’s practice using this fabulous gift!

Have you ever looked at this beautiful world we live in and been truly amazed at the creative genius of God — the fingers of God making, molding, designing, and coloring this planet to bless us and our senses, and to give us a place to live and care for? In this thirty-one-day devotional book, I hope you’ll be able to get a new sense of the intimate ways God wants to meet you and share with you through your five senses — seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, and tasting.

On most days, I’ll ask you to close your eyes and imagine or remember something. You will usually automatically bring something to mind from your past, or you will go to a place of imagination. Then you’ll have all the tools you need to take a five-minute Flight of Fancy and experience God in new ways. If you have time to do your encounter early in the morning, it may lift your spirit and help give you courage, anticipation, and a new excitement about the day you are about to jump into. Or do this encounter just before bedtime; it can help you reflect on your day in new ways and perhaps spark wonderful dreams, so you awaken tomorrow ready to take on the new day in new ways!

This book is not designed to be read for a specific month, like Day 1 for the first day of a month. Start the book whenever you want and that will be your Day 1. Since it’s not date specific, you can feel free to read this book again and again…from beginning to the end, or pick out your favorite day’s reading to experience again. Read it however your imagination leads you, but I suggest that, for the first time through it, you begin at Day 1 to help set the stage for the following days.
