Kaye Payton-Wright
Kaye Payton-Wright was born in the north of England in 1946 and left school at 15, moving to Devon and getting married at a young age, she had a family and started a nursing career and an interest in natural healing. After developing a love of education and the healing arts Kaye became a Doctor of Natural Health Sciences, following different avenues and taught in adult education colleges, starting her own programmes of natural health care development. She continued her chosen path of nursing for more than 30 years and has now retired from the service. The conditions arose to participate in capturing the essence and memories of The Secret Wood and was able to write about it while making small sketches to illustrate it. Kaye spent some time learning the skills of art and design at college and has since produced many large inspirational pieces of work which relate to moments of engagement with the natural environment, which continues to this day some of which have been exhibited. Kaye loves to spend time with her dog walking along her local beaches and driving up onto the moors in the peace and quiet where she gains inspiration and insight. Kaye loves to be at home in the garden with her pets and time in the summerhouse on dull and cool days being creative with her projects and painting, Kaye is continuing with writing about the varied subjects and views the composition of The Secret Woods to be an invaluable part of her spiritual development which was not to be missed, it encouraged her to be in the moment.

This story is dedicated to the ones it belong to, the charming characters who allowed the intrusion into their private and secret worlds, namely the animals and birds who showed great trust in human beings who treated them kindly, and knowing that we are all dependant on each other and that we originate from the same spark of light which is our being. I acknowledge Edward a companion along the same pathway, whose interaction was invaluable.
A Spring Day

Edward who lives in the nearby woods is driving his tractor along the quiet country lane towards a field where the sheep are grazing. He climbed down from his seat to open the gate he then saw a tiny little rabbit trying very hard to scramble back up the sloping bank which led into the field. Edward tried to help him but he was in too much of a hurry and kept falling down into the lane, he was very frightened and after a while Edward felt sorry for him and bent down to pick him up, he was so tiny he must have just fallen out of the nest. Edward wondered what was to become of him so he tucked the little rabbit into his jacket pocket and there he stayed cosy and warm.
