Angela McDowall

Angela McDowall has truly discovered the destiny call of God upon her life. She has found herself being used increasingly by the Lord as an encourager and a motivator. Amongst many areas of ministry, she has been privileged to serve in church leadership; has been involved in community outreach projects, ministering to the needs of the poor and needy of society. Angela is a highly experienced free-lance PA/Administrator, and has worked with executives in the computer and technology industries for over 15 years. Angela is also qualified as a Careers Advisor and finds it natural to help others discover their unique gifting. Known for her creative flair, Angela truly values her own creative gifts, which were further developed when she studied the Arts. It was here, too that her passion for literature, culture and drama was realised. Angela has an innate ability to see hidden beauty and potential in what others could so easily over-look. It is also dedicated to my wonderful parents Robert and Agatha Samuel. As my parents, I truly honour them and thank God for their lives.

I thank God also for my family, and for the two beautiful children I have been blessed with: My son Darren Anthony McDowall, and my daughter Francesca Louise McDowall. I also thank God for the adorable princess my son has further blessed us all with; baby Millie Anne McDowall.

Into Purity & Light

Ever since childhood, I have derived great pleasure from writing, and personally speaking, I have found it to be a most appropriate channel for self-expression. When I became a Christian however, much of the subject matter of my writing changed to reflect my faith in God.

Into purity & light was birthed out of much longing and searching for spiritual depth, and a quest for greater understanding of humanity, from a Godly perspective.

I felt inspired to write these poems, many of which, quite obviously, relate to human conditions typically experienced universally. My journey, whilst writing this book, has been both extraordinary and humbling. For, although I may not have personally encountered some of these conditions, I was able to receive deep insight concerning them, and this ultimately enabled me to write more effectively. So much so, that I often found myself weeping and writing, writing and weeping, yet could not always explain the tears. I realised that the words in the poems were actually ministering to me profoundly as I constructed, read and re-read them.

From a literary perspective this body of poems appear to operate on multiple levels. They deal
