    I thank Allah daily for making this book possible. Writing a book has always been a goal for me for the past many years since I became self-employed, and I believe for most of us.

    It was not until I attend The Publish A Book & Grow Rich Bootcamp in 2013 by Gerry Robert that really got me to sit down and started writing this book.

    A few weeks later in April 2013, nearly 80% of this book is written.

    However, the Singapore authorities then has just started to introduce one of the many cooling measures to discourage speculative activity.

    There were also a growing number of real estate agents who have started to experience lower activity and lesser income. I decided not to publish this book then because my intention might be interpreted wrongly.

    Looking back, it is a wise decision as there are many important fundamental changes since then in relation to the topic of this book. Looking forward, there will still be more changes but most of the contents will still be relevant in many more years to come.

    Foreword

    Selling your HDB flat is one of the major decisions you’ll make in your lifetime. For some people, it causes stress and discomfort to themselves and their family members.

    The good news is that YES, you can sell it yourself. It is not a requirement by HDB to engage a real estate consultant. In fact, about 1% of sales transaction is done without an agent.

    This guidebook is written for people just like you – the DIY seller.

    This book may also be useful for new real estate agents or even experienced agents who is not familiar in HDB transactions.

    If you are engaging the services of a qualified real estate agent who can provide value to you, please ask your agent to BUY this book for you.

    To make this guide book simple and easy to understand, I will only touch on selling the house in a straight forward case.
