About this ebook
Religion and Politics
Guaranteed to provoke emotion, WHAT IS JESUS is a straight forward and blunt summary of the Philosophical differences of the major Religious beliefs of our world.
Daniel Lee
Born in 1952, the life of Daniel Lee has taken him from Saturday morning Catechism to Voodoo, Ouji Boards, Free Love Peace Movement of the 60’s and 70’s, the ugliness of Vietnam, Desert Storm, and other ravaged societies. Entering his 20’s, Mr. Lee became increasingly aware of “Cause” and “Effect”. Forty years of experiencing life changing situations, the question of “What” led to this situation was always in the back of his mind. As the world enters a new century, religions have been put at the forefront of bias and prejudice. Once again Mr. Lee asks; “What” or “Why”? Three years of dedicated study and research, led him to “What Is Jesus”?

FOREWORD
It is not my intent to give cause to dissention and / or offense to any one, any place in the world of any society or religious or spiritual belief. It is my hope and intent to provoke some deep thought and meditation concerning wide spread debates and hostilities involving some religions and the individual convictions about the person of Jesus the Christ. I hope that upon reading this book, many people will gain a refreshing awareness of cultural and philosophical differences and be more able to respect those differences in a warm spirit compared to a prejudiced attitude and mind set. Our most powerful and dangerous enemy hides within our own minds.
John Osteen wrote in his book: The Confessions of a Baptist Preacher (1983): It will be recorded in history that ours has been one of the most turbulent, violent, and shocking generations that has ever lived upon the face of the earth.
Thirty years have since passed and I can see that history is being recorded as he so stated. We are in that time now.
DEDICATION
I dedicate the efforts and research making this composition available, to all peoples of every nation, my family, religious teachers and elders, and all journalists. My deepest respect and warmest wishes for the many teachers, mentors, friends, and associates who have been an inspiration to me throughout my life.
INTRODUCTION
Who am I ?
I feel great prudence in introducing myself to you. Many people around the world need to identify a certified degree title to an author of any literary publication. At this time, I have no college degree or academic portfolio. What I do have is memories, recollections, and years of thought as day after day I look and see the world we live in.
Though there are many, one of my greatest experiences throughout a twenty year career in the U.S. Navy was the privilege of knowing and spending time with numerous and very enlightened people of different religious committed beliefs.
Upon graduating High School in 1970, I left home and quickly steered myself away from the Catholic life I had inherited from birth. At that time it was adamantly taught to me that Catholics were blessed to be the one true Church, tracing their roots back to one of the original Apostles, named Peter. At that time, I was made to believe that looking at another church was a sin. To enter another church and/or participate with another church was immediate damnation. It wasn’t until years later, that those of the Catholic faith took upon themselves a Christian affiliation.
I feel that a brief back ground of myself will help you the reader better understand what I will share with you in these following pages. After Graduating High School, I went to Business School and later joined the U.S. Navy in March 1973.
Throughout these pages, it will not be my purpose or intent to point or in any way attack or put down any philosophical or religious belief of the reader. My only intent and purpose is to ask one question. What is JESUS?
WHAT IS JESUS ?
From the beginning of the Bible Book of Genesis, those who say they are Christian will profess that the Man
of the New Testament of the Bible is known by many names and titles.
Throughout the History of mankind, so much torture, persecution, mayhem, and slaughter has ensued on so many societies in His name and in the Name of the Father Creator over and of all things. The same has and continues to take place because of a common belief in an ALMIGHTY GOD.
This causes me great anxiety concerning perhaps the greatest question one may ask themselves. WHY? . . . Is WHO
the root cause of all this chaos or is WHAT
the well hidden & secret underlying justification?
As one studies the many religions of the world, one discovers that most religions have one common belief. That common belief is of one GOD over all things. HE
who created all things and set an order concerning all things. With this common belief, why is there so much persecution and why have so many wars throughout time, been fought for the purpose of GOD and in the Name of JESUS? Have we all missed the most important message that has been given to us over and over and over again? I strongly believe we have.
For the sake of time, eternity, salvation, eternal rewards, universal and cosmic heaven and hell, and truth(?); How is it possible for so many different religions to exist and compete with one another?
TRUTH
What is Truth
? Truth is that which reinforces itself. Truth will still be Truth across a spectrum of events or situations. Facts may or may not support a Truth. There’s a world of difference between truth and facts. Facts can obscure truth.
(—Maya Angelou) Truth will always put a light on supporting facts.
A very strong similarity in the Christian Bible and the Quran is that History and Science validates many things in both. An example: History validates the Crucifixion of Jesus (Tacitus). History validates the demise of the Egyptian army at the Red Sea. Oceanic research confirms intact debris on the shallow underwater self of the Red Sea floor. Medical Science confirms that the mummified body of the Pharaoh of Egypt at that time did indeed die from drowning and physical body trauma (Bucaille 1994, 127).
It is Truth that the recorded testimonies of the many individuals that make up the Bible and the message of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, of the Quran, are confirmed time and time again, by History, Science, Anthropology, and Medicine as being accurate. Skeptics can diminish the
