Belinda Hernandez

I am Belinda Hernandez, and this is a story I would like to share with you. On September 26, 1966, I was born in El Paso, Texas. It was hot as ever in the summer of June. It was very hot in our one-bedroom house, where I lived with six other brothers and sisters. I was the seventh child, and I was the baby of the house. One afternoon, all the kids were screaming and crying, and it was driving my mom angrier by the minute. I was nine months old. My mother was on drugs, and she loved to drink alcohol. One afternoon, she couldn’t take it anymore with all the screaming and crying. So one day, she took me into the kitchen and she took a knife and she stabbed me in the head. I was hospitalized for a few years, then I was placed into an orphanage.

hello I’m Belinda Hernandez this is my story I would like 2 share with u on September 26 1966 I was born in El Paso Texas. it was a hot as ever in the summer of June it was very hot in our 1 bedroom house where I lived with 6 other brothers and sisters. I was the 7th child n I was the baby of the house 1 afternoon all the kids were screaming n crying n it was driving my mom more angry by the minute. I was 9 months old. my mother was on drugs she even love 2 drink a lot. one afternoon she couldn’t take it anymore with all the screaming and crying so 1 day she just couldn’t handle it so she took me in2 the kitchen n took a knife n she stabbed me in the head.

I was hospitalized 4 a few years Then i was placed in2 an orphanage after I recover from my head wound. I need 2 explain 1 thing 2 u so you understand me better. so say 4 instant u have a radio n u disconnect a couple of wires 1 of the wires connected 2 the speaker the other wires connected 2 the volume. so when you plug up the radio the speaker n the volume didn’t work. so when my mother stabbed me in the head she had disconnected my brain cells. so my understanding n directions was of a child it was hard 4 me 2 learn I was a slow disable child. on April 9th 1970 I was still in Children Services an orphanage in El Paso Texas. well this day I was brought 2 the office where the lady took me in2 her office where they’re sat a nice couple sitting in front of her desk the lady then sat me in the middle of the couple after 30 minutes the couple then sign some papers n then they took me 2 their house.

since I was only 4 years old I couldn’t speak very well but what I could speak it was in Spanish. The couples last name was Mr and Mrs Hernandez they were Americans. I was Mexican Indian. so when Mr n Mrs Hernandez adopted me I was an Mexican American Indian. my new parents change my name because when I was born my name is Glinda so when they adopted me they change my name 2 Belinda Hernandez I have a new brother and a new sister I can’t mention their names because they’re still alive. My mom was a Filipina and my dad was German. We lived in Lexington Kentucky it was beautiful in the winter. me and my sister will play outside in the snow we would make snow angels we would always make snowmen.
