About this ebook
of the knight (rook) in chess, as it jumps around on your beliefs on
old views with a realistic view of modern thinking. With a version
of the world and its all encompassing beauty as in Field day and of a
world sometimes harsh in its unfairness Misused mankind also of life
situations in our everyday happenings, the author hopes to deliver
a poetic read that gives food for thought to readers who are able
to see the strategic nuances that shape our thinking which leads
to more interesting relationships and how we consciously, and
at times unconsciously, handle them. The book starts with a
poem that sets the scene with esoteric lines that offer a purview
for the verses that follow, it is hoped you will enjoy reading these
poems as much as the author enjoyed shaping them.
Wayne Jasmin
Wayne Jasmin is a mental health nurse who has used his nursing experience and his own nights of insomnia to convey in verse some of the feelings people who experience either can relate to. Writing poetry became something of interest to the author later in life, around his mid thirties and was very much influenced by his mothers earlier written work. His poetry went hand in hand with his own interest in art and its varied styles such as technical drawing, sketching and graffiti as he found it to be another way to creatively express himself. After years of rich and varied friendships the author is able to touch on matters of interest that links to most peoples' psyche as he uses life experiences of acquaintances to shape much of his poems.

CHAPTER ONE
26626.pngA Selected Start
Alphabet Of Floral Lines
Flowers bought for posting bouquets petal cute
Letters mailed first class; speedily getting through
Originality tied to aloofness, arouses eager pursuit
Wishing wicked fantasies one day coming true
Expectations from desires acted out like statute
Romance substituted by lustful acts—impromptu
Satisfied by the pleasure of getting into a beaut.
Flowers like the alphabet
speak a message true
petals make the flower
letters the alpha crew
brought together orderly
reaching for your agree
making sense of what’s seen
a show for all to see
words say so much
flowers nothing but touch
stirring thoughts in your heart
enveloped in emotion
alphabets’ flowers brought
words compiled for your digest
printed sentences
purposely pressed
intrigue makes you look
at statements others mistook
paradoxes conveniently hidden
behind feelings once forbidden
like a wolf in sheep clothing
obscured by winters leap into spring
we’RE WOLF’s amongst the pages
reversing bold confused words
fettering floral messages
eating up literary rhymes
attempting to skip on poetic lines
words hereon are yet to be said
colourful language carefully uttered
beguiling petals bunched to send
between pages one to the last numbered
flowery as the first A, previously read
through to the final word ending in zed.
The Good Catholic Girl
Awake amongst the daffodils
breathe floral scented air
grazed your knees whilst climbing hills
skin white born tenderly fair
years go by to heal life’s bruise
no longer holding despair
confused you’ll lose, to win then choose
your life is one to share.
Awake from your slumber
breathe in specious dismay
age is all but another number
gasp at yet another birthday
see through days of confusion
sleep walking steals the day
dazed by life’s intrusion
of what religion had to say.
Awake when you were younger
alcohol fuelled dancing; what a time
meeting guys with a certain hunger
saying choose me, make you mine
flattery made you stronger
way back in eighty-nine
those days of fun no longer
at thirty-nine just about feeling fine.
Asleep subliminally confused
awake you walk in a perpetual daze
the past conveniently abused
your twenties a passing phase
youths ego left like knees once bruised
next birthday contemplate the ways
forty years unconventionally used
tough times survived, now give God the praise.
