Collis Sherman Bell, an educator, poet, and author, was born in Bimini, Bahamas. She holds an MA degree from Prairie View A&M University in Texas. She currently lives in Weston, Florida, with her husband, Willie; they have two children. She is also the author of Pockets of My Heart.
