About this ebook

Spiritual Highlights For Our Souls Book 2, was written to encourage us in fulfilling the calling on our lives. These highlights reflect Gods forever awareness, presence and power.

Have you ever ask God the following questions:

1. God, did you see that?
2. God, did you plan for it to happen that way?.
3. God, was it really necessary for me to go through all that?

The answers to the above questions have not changed. God sees all, knows all and He has a master plan.

When God created His master plan He knew that we would face challenges, but regardless of the challenges He expects for us to fulfill the calling on our lives. He expects for us to lean and depend upon Him only, to put all our trust in Him, for us to use our gifts/talents to help others and for us to advance His kingdom.

Let us not just be hearers of the word, Let us also be doers!!!

Spiritual Highlights for Our Souls - DIANE RAINEY

    PERSEVERANCE

(CONTINUING TO DO SOMETHING IN SPITE OF DIFFICULTIES/OBSTACLES)

S ometimes in life we are confronted with difficulties/obstacles and it is up to us as to how we decide to handle them. We can decide to let them get the best of us or we can decide to let God help us through them.

Our first line of defense is in our minds. As Joyce Meyers puts it, our minds are the battle field and if we can win there we can win the war. In Proverbs 23: 7 it says For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. In other words, whatever we decide will determine our outcome.

Every person would like to have good outcomes, but in order for that to happen their hearts and minds must be in accordance with the word of God. Our obstacles may be about facts, but the truth is that God can move them all. You see, we can all agree that life does have its difficulties/obstacles, but we do not have to allow them to stop us. God has equipped each of us with the ability to go around them, over them or through them. What do you really want today? If it is to win then you must start at the first line of defense (your mind).

Below are a few scriptures to get you started and to keep you equipped:

    1.   Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (learning what God is saying), that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

    2.   2 Corinthians 10:4-5 For the weapons (word of God) of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for the pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

    3.   Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (This highlight is dedicated to Jimmy Colbert).

WHO HAS THE RIGHT TO QUIT?

L ife is not easy and sometimes it seems unfair, but before you quit read the following highlight.

As a Social Worker, I have had many opportunities to hear about some of life’s worst tragedies and on many of those occasions I would hear the person say that they wanted to quit because of their suffering (suffering
