    Monica Clarke is a Yorkshire lass born and bred, who came from one of the mining villages around Doncaster. Living with her widowed mother and 4 brothers, she always believed life was set out for her to just become a wife and mother too. Coming into her teens in the early swinging sixties life was great fun. But, like many of this generation, great fun came with a price tag and by the time she was 22 years old, she was married with two sons. However this self fulfilling prophesy changed when she decided to return to full time education at the age of thirty. Following 4 years of studying she qualified as a social worker. Work with Social Services and later as a Probation officer brought her in contact with a wide variety of interesting people from all walks of life. She found people became more and more interesting. While still married to the same man after 47 years, she decided that as she retired from working full time she could now try her hand at writing a book. So here it is!!!
