In 2010, there is nothing about four-year-old Robert James Odom to suggest the accomplishments he will achieve in the future. In many regards, he is an average young boy from the Midwest, growing up on the shores of Lake Erie. But as an adult, success follows him. As a brilliant young entrepreneur, he develops a financial source to build his lifelong dream, a nightclub named Asgard where supernaturally beautiful and talented hostesses charm the patrons to purchase food, drinks, and souvenirs.

Robert J. Odom Investments eventually becomes the most financially powerful force in the universe. But soon, prosperity results in disaster, power results in conflict, and friendships produce enemies. Its a world filled with conquest, politics, seduction, intimidation, religion, and miscalculation. Rioting, crime, and sex slavery are common occurrences.

As the year 2142 rolls around and the three remaining races face extinction, cousins Robert J. Odom V (called Bob 5) and Desmond Jericho Rand (called DJ), believe the answers are in a time travel discovery that would involve travel to the past to influence change. The pair knows they cannot directly manipulate history, but through telepathic suggestions they can persuade the humans to make different choices. But what exactly should they change?

Monday, June 20, AD 2142

B is sitting up. She arches her back, closes her eyes, and lets out a guttural yell. After that, she puts her hands on DJ’s chest and smiles in a very artificial way at the Uh’mn. Youuu mucka sux viree gooda fo mee. Youuu mucka sux lucka leez-bee-un.

She tried to say, You make sex very good for me. You make sex like a lesbian. It is intended as a compliment to the way DJ satisfied her. He grins and says, Yeah, B, I’m just a lesbian, trapped in a man’s body.

DJ is flat on his back with the Kahzar female straddling her body over him. He looks up at B’s pointed ears and tongue and takes a breath. His eyes travel from her face, down her throat to her breasts. Kahzar female mammary glands are so similar to those of Uh’mn females for the two species that evolved in different solar systems.

DJ starts to harass B about her long, skinny, pointed tongue. She tells him that her pointed tongue is adapted very well for oral sex with other females. Then she tells DJ that the Kahzars call the Uh’mn shovel tongues because of their flat tongues that are not as well adapted for sex. DJ laughs at the comment. Uh, your tongue is sloppy on me. I must carve it down with a knife to make it work for me. B is teasing her mate. She tries hard to speak the Uh’mn language, but it’s difficult for Kahzars to pronounce some of the vowels. He can only understand her by reading her mind.

He smiles at his mate. Uh’mn males seem very feminine to B’s race. That is actually a bonus for DJ. He knows she feels like she is getting some hot female action, and her love canal stuffed at the same time. B, sex with me is almost like a threesome for you, isn’t it? Yusss.

B smiles back in the Kahzar fashion; her mouth is open, and she looks to DJ like she is confused. The guttural laugh of the Kahzars she makes is distinctive. DJ has to be careful how he responds. He once told her he wanted her to perform fellatio on him. He learned quickly that Uh’mn semen is a delicacy to Kahzar females, and they have a tendency to use their teeth on anything that enters their mouths; a creative variation is needed.

The most successful plan is that B’s oral probe is so sensitive and agile that it works very effectively at stimulating his love muscle. B likes to work her tongue around to tease his male member. She works on him to the point that she is able to have the delicacy delivered by airmail down her throat. Her tongue is wrapped around his organ and directs the flow.

DJ simply flips B on her back and tells her he is going to show her who is the master. DJ’s laughing and B’s rasping noises are heard in their apartment unit as the two wrestle with each other. B will demand the only thing she ever requires from her Uh’mn in another minute, sex.

B embraces DJ, a gesture common among the female Kahzars to offer sex to the recipient. DJ nibbles her neck with his lips, just below a ear, the customary acceptance of the offer. B is insatiable.

Females outnumber male Kahzars so much that homosexuality is common among the female Kahzars. The males enjoy the show when that happens. Some things are universal, no matter what the species are.

The Kahzars have given the lusty female to DJ as a sex slave. The Uh’mn consider her to be DJ’s mate. DJ is just glad that he has her with him; he would definitely call her his soul mate, his equal, the one he would turn to if he needed someone to stand by him.

B is officially called the First Born of the Second Consort. Kahzars do not name individuals as the Uh’mn or the Uh’rn do. DJ calls her 1B2C or usually just B for short.

Kahzar females are about as heavyset and muscular as the Uh’mn males and not unattractive to Uh’mn eyes. They have the rough rusty-colored skin and the white hair with a bluish tint of the Kahzars, but B has worked on making her skin smoother for DJ.

There is no facial hair on the females; in fact, there is no hair on the females besides that which covers the top of their heads. They still have the almond-shaped red eyes that the males have. Both male and female Kahzars grow their hair on top of their heads long, down their backs. Often, it is braided into a long ponytail.

The Kahzars are a fierce-looking race and formidable in a purely physical sense. If it were not for superior technology and the mental powers of the Uh’mn, telepathy and telekinesis, the Uh’mn and Uh’rn would have been totally destroyed in the war with the Kahzars.

There are a few Kahzar refugees left, twenty-two females and three males, enough for three prides of Kahzars. They have been brought to the planet H’mn, formerly known as Earth, as slave labor to help rebuild the Uh’mn civilization. The red-eyed monsters deserve their fate.

The males look like the old medieval Vikings. They are built like sumo wrestlers with extremely thick necks that make their heads look small, compared to the rest of their bodies. The males stand about two meters tall, about as tall as the Uh’mn males. The females are about the same height but much thinner. Like the female Kahzars, the males’ coarse skin is a rusty color, and their hair is white with a bluish tint. The red eyes are almond-shaped like the old human Mongolian race. Their cuspid teeth are longer than the Uh’mn, making them look all the more like the spawn of Satan.

DJ usually communicates to B telepathically, but she does practice talking to DJ in very broken English. B strives to please her mate, but she could use some more sleep training to improve her linguistic skills. Other Uh’mn scientists are working with B on making the sleep training more effective for the Kahzars.

She has been given the Pl’sn from the Uh’rn home world and has developed some mental powers with the limited sleep training she has been able to absorb into her brain. No one has discovered why, but Pl’sn is more effective if the recipient spends some time in the H’mn atmosphere after ingesting it. B seduces DJ with mental sex, which he enjoys when he is not working. He is mentally superior to her so that he could block her suggestions, if he wanted to do so. She has also studied the Notebook of the Goddesses, a very generous gift from the Uh’mn. B is always eager to learn what her Uh’mn, DJ, likes.

B was an offering to the victorious Uh’mn by the defeated Kahzars when both she and DJ were two years old. It is customary to offer a healthy young female from the leading pride to the conquering faction. They officially mated when both were seventeen years old. It is the duty of the female offering to please her new master so that he will allow the conquered slaves to stay alive.

Bob 5 was already mated to another Uh’mn female, so he could not accept the Kahzar slave as a mate. DJ was reluctant at first until he discovered what the Kahzars really meant by pleasing the new master.

DJ’s mate has weaker mental powers than that which any of the Uh’mn women possess, but what she lacks in ability, she makes up for in persistence. One’s mental ability increases with sleep training, exposure to the H’mn atmosphere after ingestion and generations taking the Pl’sn, so B’s offspring will have improved mental powers, and DJ’s addition to the gene pool will cause that ability to dramatically escalate.

She works to please DJ as though her pride’s lives all depended on her. When DJ is communicating with Bob 5, he tells him it’s a miracle, after they were officially mated, that he was able to complete his work on time travel.

Bob 5 responds that DJ is into bestiality with the Kahzar female, and he is just going to start his own pride with more Kahzar females at some point in the future. It is a constant joke between the two friends. DJ refers to her as a one-woman orgy, and there is no way he could handle another Kahzar female when he talks to his cousin about her.

Bob 5 and DJ then laughingly conclude that the reason Kahzar females have sex with each other so much is because they are too erotic if there is more than one female; even the Kahzar males are overwhelmed by their vigorous nature.

The Meeting,

Tuesday, June 21, AD 2142

T he old nightclub south of Arlington has not been in business for twenty years. What remains of the staff uses it as a lounge. The staff facilities, courtyard, apartment units, kitchen, salon, and workout room are still in use by what remains of humanity or as they are now called Uh’mn. The few descendents of what were the original occupants have decided to settle here and repopulate the planet.

DJ sits in a chair with B seated at his feet, a common position for sex slaves. Her upbringing requires her to do this, especially in the presence of other Kahzars. They feel their existence depends on her submissive nature toward her master. It is enough of a humiliation that B is always naked when she is around DJ. Uh’mn customarily do not wear clothes, but Kahzars do.

B reaches up for DJ and kisses him. It is a custom that is foreign to Kahzars, but DJ likes it as long as he keeps his tongue out of her mouth. B probes the inside of his mouth with her own pointed tongue and finds it to be more sensual than a Kahzar would expect. Of course, Kahzars do not French Kiss each other because of their natural biting tendencies, but probing DJ’s mouth with her own agile tongue is pleasurable for her.

DJ scans her mind and detects she is becoming aroused by the action. Her eyes are closed, and she is sending him a message to service me. Don’t leave your goddess waiting. That is obviously a result of studying the Notebook of the Goddesses. She also tells DJ that having sex with an Uh’mn is good because their male appendages are wider than Kahzar females are used to having.

A long slender tongue or a Kahzar male’s penis is good for teasing a female’s genitals, but a barbarically wide sex tool is an erotic thrill beyond what any of the other female Kahzars experience.

After the meeting, DJ has to be alone with his hot-blooded Kahzar mate that enjoys being called his sex slave and, at the same time, is using her TRAINING as if she were a goddess of Asgard. His body may not survive the exercise.

He lets B in on what he is thinking; she is making the Kahzar gesture for a smile. Then she makes an alluring gesture to indicate he needs to be alone with her. B is learning from the notebook. She tells him that she hopes the meeting will be short.

Everyone is now present so the meeting can come to order. Robert J. Odom Jr. is a fragile-looking Uh’mn at 109 years old. But his mind is sharp, and he is in charge of Robert J. Odom Investments, LLC.

Robert J. Odom V, commonly known as Bob 5, is the future CEO of Robert J. Odom Investments, LLC. As such, he is the future ruler over the Uh’mn or what is left of it. When Bob Jr., Bob 3, and Bob 4 all step aside, he will take over the company.

Desmond Jericho Rand is always called DJ. He is the foremost scientist of the Uh’mn. He started experimenting with X-machine technology eighteen years ago at the age of two years. DJ’s mental powers are formidable, even among the Uh’mn. Between DJ and his best friend and distant cousin Bob 5, they are supremely influential among the Uh’mn.

B is submissive to DJ in every way but aggressive with sex. He knows her intent is to ensure the survival of her pride. She sees her primary responsibility is to provide DJ with sex, and she is good at it. She was trained from the beginning to reward the head of the pride with her talents in the sexual arts. She is the best in her pride at it, and thus the reason, she was offered to the Uh’mn.

There is an easy test to determine a Kahzar female’s talent in the sexual arts. Female Kahzar genitalia are developed at birth. Each infant female is tested; if a female infant responds in a positive way when her genital region is stimulated, she has some talent. When the test was performed on B, she had an orgasm. It is a highly unusual reaction but not without precedence. That reaction instantly made B a highly prized female that was going to be used to formulate a pride for a supreme leader if they ever made it back to Kahzar.

The pride is comparable to the Uh’mn family, and it is the basic Kahzar social unit. It is like a pride of lions. The females, usually four to eight in number, govern the pride. The males are elected into their position by the pride and perform as required by the females. The most pressing obligation the males have is for sex and the ability to sire offspring as the determining factor in keeping the male as the head of the pride.

If the head is not up to the requirements of the pride, he is customarily executed by the females. Most heads of a pride do not live to a ripe old age.

The question at hand is if Bob 5 and DJ should go back in history and try to change something so that all three species of beings, the Uh’mn, the Uh’rn, and the Kahzars, would not face extinction as they do now. And if they do go back, what should they change?

The Desperate Attempt,

T he decision has been made. Bob 5 and DJ now sit in the capsule at the hideout in Navarro County. The initial trip to the past was terrifying. Now they both will return with an assignment. Are you ready to get this over with, DJ? Yeah, Bob, we’ve got one shot. Let’s get this right. DJ takes a breath and sets the control on his invention to send the capsule to their allocated destination. They begin their assignment to go back in history. They know they are not able to directly change what happened in the past; they can only observe. They are going to try to persuade the humans of that era with telepathic suggestions.

Before they leave, DJ sees B with a worried look on her face. He mentally tells her he will be back in only a few hours.

They had some time together before DJ had to leave. He felt like a condemned man getting his last meal before he is executed. B knew it could be a while before they would be together alone again, and she was making the most of her time with him. If DJ died now, it would be a most pleasant memory to carry with him for all eternity.

B forces a pleasant face to encourage his return; all Kahzar females are required to put on a confident show for the heads of the pride when they leave for battle. DJ knows she is concerned for him.

It is a good thing that B is not Uh’mn; Uh’mn can cry. DJ would see tears in her eyes just before the capsule disappears in a flash of light. When the capsule disappears and the bright light after that, B is devastated that she is alone, without her master, her mate, and her consort. The Uh’mn have a word for it that among the Kahzars, only B is beginning to learn what the Uh’mn call love.

After the capsule disappears, the Uh’mn leave the area, but two Kahzar females walk up to comfort B. She is emitting a soft, high-pitched moan. The other Kahzars recognize the sound of a distraught comrade. Offers of sex are made to B by the two Kahzar females, by using the customary embrace between them, but DJ’s mate is inconsolable as long as her mate is away from her. She does not respond with the customary nibbling on either requester’s neck, just below the ear.

She goes with everyone in the capsule back to Asgard, Texas, near Arlington. She does not communicate with the other Kahzar females or the Uh’mn. She will only retire to her apartment unit and lie in bed. She will then hold the pillow that DJ reclines his head on when he sleeps. She can smell his scent on it, and it gives her some comfort.

E laina Del Rio is fifteen years old. Her parents are hardworking and provide for their family as best they can. Young Elaina is a protégé to an elderly woman that has many years as the owner and operator of a beauty salon. The countless time of experience is passed on to the young girl.

Indeed, the older woman is a wealth of knowledge to young Elaina. She is learning early how to make women beautiful in ways that are the envy of other beauticians, how to use cosmetics with perfect results, treatments on women’s bodies, or working on their hair. Young Elaina hurries from school to Gloria’s Salon almost every day.

Not only that, Elaina is learning behavior to make women more alluring to men, a very attractive pursuit for any young woman. The teenager observes, listens, and practices the art of attracting the attention of any male that comes in contact with her.

The older beautician supervises the young woman closely and teaches her to control men at any age. Elaina has witnessed several accounts of the old woman talking with the various customers that had experienced problems in their love life. Making herself alluring to men is a casual attraction to the teenager, and later it comes to the forefront of her interest.

The incident that initially got her undivided attention was that of a woman in her late twenties that was being physically abused by her husband. The elderly beautician listened and asked questions of the young woman about events that lead to assaults, aspects of her husband, and other questions about her in-laws and her own siblings.

Finally, the old woman told her customer that she looked like she had three options: (1) she could put up with the abuse until her husband finally kills her, (2) she could kill her husband before he kills her, and (3) she could seduce her husband so that he would have no choice but to do her bidding.

Obviously, choice number three seemed interesting to the young woman, much more so than numbers one or two. The prospect of being so alluring to an abusive husband that he could not continue assaulting his wife was so remarkable to young Elaina that she could not help but pay attention to the older woman’s advice.

The elder beautician spent a lot of time and care in making up the young woman. Her husband would have to take a second look to make sure it was his wife. Next, as the process of beautifying the woman took place, she was given some suggestions on how to be disarming to her spouse. There was nothing unusual about what she should do: a few gestures, a look from her eyes to his, a suggestion of sexual favors, and a few tips to tease her man.

The old woman promised the younger customer that if she tried these few tricks, her man would be unable to resist anything she wanted him to do. The customer listened and made mental notes of how she would use these tricks on her husband.

The description of things she should do was so suggestive that both the young woman and Elaina were aroused by the idea of seducing a man in this way. The customer was determined that she was going to try those ideas that very day and report back to the old beautician tomorrow.

Elaina remembers the young woman came in for just a brief time the next day. The expression on her face told both the elder woman and Elaina that the experiment was successful beyond any expectation. The young woman was crying tears of joy and hugging and thanking her instructor for most of the time she was there.

The beautician was gracious and congratulated the customer for overcoming her marital problems. After that day, the young woman had a weekly appointment at the salon.

Starting on that day with the abused young woman, Elaina starts making a notebook of the wisdom of the elder beautician. She will spend the rest of her life perfecting the advice of her mentor. She will use it on herself and to TRAIN other women to control their men, also.

Alicia is the newborn sister of Elaina. She is also given all the love and attention that her parents can provide. Elaina is helpful and considerate of her infant sibling.

Despite the age difference, the two are going to stay close to each other. As they get older, the sisters will look like siblings, and the age difference will become less pronounced. As they get older, they won’t look like there is fifteen years difference in age.

As she grows, Cynthia will try to balance her Chinese ancestry with her American citizenship. She will be headstrong, and she will team up with friends not located around the west coast.

She will pursue Chinese martial arts, specifically kung fu and also Israeli Krav Maga. She will not try to hide her Mongolian racial features. Cynthia will, in fact, exaggerate her racial features on occasion. Her beauty and physical abilities will be well-known. She will speak to her parents in mandarin Chinese when in private, and she will speak comfortably in both Chinese and English.

W hat disgusting miscreant from the bowels of Satan himself would dare to show itself and force this newborn child to live in hell on earth? What payment would be suitable for her tormentor that could come from Asmodeus, Baalzephon, Geryon, or any of the most terrifying demons that guard the nine gates of hell?

What merciful God could allow this newborn infant to be chained to the beast with coarse green scaly skin and burning red eyes? Sulfurous vapor escapes its nostrils, and long sharp teeth and taloned claws torture its helpless victim.

The demon rips her skin from her body, exposing the muscle, bones, and entrails. A toothy maw with saliva dripping out of its mouth grabs an arm and slowly crushes the bones and mangles the limb before pulling it from the young victim to exact the greatest amount of pain.

The beast slowly pokes out an eye with a claw and scalps the infant before picking at the grey matter under the skull.

Her body is chained to this abomination and has no chance, no hope to escape the torment. The only relief comes when the body succumbs to the beast and the innocent child is relieved by the mercy of death, from her torment.

Mary Vinton is not that lucky. Her mother does her best to protect little Mary. The effort will work for about six years.

It ends when Linda Vinton is wrapped in chains and pushed, conscious and gagged, into the middle of the Ohio River, late at night. No one will be able to discover the circumstances under which Mary’s mother abandoned her family without a trace for years after that.

Little Mary will be chained to the demon to be tortured and cursed, to live in hell until the day she might overcome the beast. She knows the name of the beast, and that chains her to it. She is forced to replace her mother in every way because the name of the monster that torments her is Daddy.

Mark Vinton is an entrepreneur, of sorts. In the coming years, he will sit around the house waiting for an opportunity to relieve some unsuspecting mark of their valuables, or he can watch his daughter clean the house.

His daughter will never wear clothing while she is doing her chores. Daddy will enjoy watching her scurry around cleaning and doing laundry or getting him some more beer or even getting him something to eat. She is his servant, his chattel, and his sex slave.

Once in a while she will get a break when he checks out an unoccupied lodge that an out-of-town hunter owns. He will slip in and look for something of value to him. Other times, he or one or more of his associates will assault Mary as he will have done when he takes her virginity, after her mother disappears.

The secrets in a demented person’s soul should remain there, maybe even to the grave, from where it could never emerge again. There are many dark secrets in the corners of anyone’s mind that have no right, no justification to see the light of day or the position of where another human being could be exposed to it.

It is disgusting that these animals use little Mary as nothing more than a sex object, a vessel, or a sex toy in which to masturbate. The things they do to her would make a normal human being’s stomach turn or make them cry at the display of her abuse or an even a more sensitive person would wretch at the sight of the evil done to this child of God.

It is easy to assault the weak, especially the little ones, who are unable to defend themselves or understand the horror that is perpetrated on them by a parent and his associates, as they have no mechanism to cope with the dreadfulness.

To treat another human being as a disposable piece of refuse, an after thought, a useless commodity that is discarded when one is tired of misusing them, is a point of revulsion. To treat an innocent child in that manner is so much worse.

The stories of ancient gods’ judgments on people that mistreated the helpless are recorded in history. Special punishment was reserved for those miscreants. The gods would set up scenarios for them to be tortured throughout eternity, to have their entrails ripped out and devoured by ravenous scavenging birds, only to be regenerated and feed the predators again and again. Or fruit that remains always, just beyond their grasp, to drive the miserable soul insane with hunger and never allowed to satisfy that need. Those despicable trolls would pay for their misdeeds forever.

The badly treated souls left behind would be scarred with the memory of their abusers for the rest of their lives. Those unfortunate victims are then tortured with the memories of living in hell on earth. This will happen when Mark Vinton’s daughter is six years of age and her mother is gone. This is the future of Mary.

L ewis Rand will never look like the first person with whom to pick a fight. Something in his demeanor tells, all who see him, that he can handle himself in a brawl. That will be enhanced by future training in the marines.

He is nine years old now and has a stalky, muscular build for one so young. He is always one of the kids that jump in to break up a fight between the other kids. His parents have some wealth that will be left to their only child. That is not something that the young boy thinks about at this point in his life. He would rather concentrate on his physical conditioning, boxing, wrestling, and martial arts. His academic efforts will be sufficient to get him through college for an undergraduate degree.

T im Ski Lynnowski and Calvin Mad Dog Jones will grow up together around Rural Texas, south of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex near Midlothian, and regard each other as brothers. Each other is the only family they will know as they mature.

They are unusually big kids. Both boys are currently ten years old. They encourage each other to excel physically and academically.

They like to work on motorcycles, and they already look like hard bikers. In another eight years, they will join the marines, Special Forces, and will get out of that after eight years.

They will then go to the University of Texas, Arlington, and both get chemical engineering degrees. They choose to work toward this degree because of the effort to develop their hobby. Then they will go on to set up shop, repairing motorcycles.

But for now, the hobby they strive to develop is a material they will call Armour. It will become a strong light substance made into panels that will resist penetration by objects that strike it. Armour looks like a soft and pliable lightweight plastic with a thin foam coating. As the pressure increases, Armour resists with an equal amount of force.

Ski is well-mannered around everyone. He is regarded by adults, in particular, as polite and courteous. Dog is more inclined to say exactly what he is thinking. Sometimes, his frankness comes off as rude.

Casey Sloane is a tomboy. Her family is thought of as rednecks and white trash. Ski is always polite to Casey, but she is attracted to the bad boy image of Mad Dog Jones.

Initially, one might expect Casey to be maltreated by Dog, but that assumption would be wrong. The attraction is mutual, and it doesn’t take long to realize that Casey can get Dog to do anything she wants him to do.

Casey will follow Dog and Ski into the marines, Special Forces, and will prove herself a worthy asset to the corps.

When the three return to civilian life, Casey will work various jobs and follow her childhood boyfriend, Dog, as he goes on to college and graduates with Ski.

K illeen Harper is a year younger than the Ellis County group. She is growing up on a farm near the city of Killeen. Her parents like the name and pass it on to their daughter. Her father is a Texan that works his farm, where he was born and raised. Her mother is a Cajun from Louisiana. Mrs. Harper has ancestry that is French, Negro, and Bayogoula Native American.

This gives Killeen a dark complexion with straight black hair. She does not appreciate working on the farm and is destined to try the city life, not in Dallas but further north, maybe in Canada.

She tries to make the most of growing up on a Texas farm. This earns her the reputation of being out of control at times. Isolated spots on the farm are ideal for teenagers exploring their sexuality. Many parties will go on in a backfield within a grove of trees. Dancing, drinking, sex, and exhibitionism will be common events. Killeen will usually be the center of activity, and she will like the attention that gives her.

When she gets to be a teenager, it will be amazing to Killeen that her parents are trying to keep her from enjoying herself. There’s more to life than working all the time, especially the backbreaking work and long hours on the farm.

It’s such a shame that she won’t realize her talent at that time. Killeen has a head on her shoulders, gets decent grades, and is a good judge of human character. She speaks French as well as English and Spanish.

Her adventurous nature will get her into trouble; sex is not a game for those that want to use it to torment the opposite gender and try to make a profit from it. She will leave home for a while and then return to Texas after she learns a lesson in human nature.

E laina Del Rio moved from Puerto Rico to Sandusky to help a friend with her salon. The two originally knew each other through their parents. Her friend moved to Sandusky with her new husband and requested Elaina to move up to help the friend in a lucrative market.

The elderly mentor to Elaina passed away a couple of years earlier, and Elaina is not business savvy enough to carry it on without her. Her parents had been killed in a freak auto accident a year before. That leaves Elaina alone with her fifteen-year-old sister, Alicia, left in her care.

Cynthia Cheng is convinced she is quite the woman of the world, and she is for a fifteen-year-old. Her parents are visiting some friends in Northern Ohio this summer, and Cynthia is up for the adventure. She dresses a little flashy for her parents’ taste, but they know she is a teenager. They also know their daughter is accomplished in the Chinese martial arts, kung fu, and she is also studying the Israeli defensive art of Krav Maga. She can take care of herself.

While the Cheng family is visiting their friends in Sandusky, Cynthia and her mother take an opportunity to visit a local salon. The stylists are very talented, especially the Puerto Rican woman. Cynthia is fascinated by the other girl that works in the salon that looks almost exactly like a non-Asian version of her.

Alicia is also interested in the Chinese girl. It’s almost as though she is looking in a mirror and seeing a Chinese adaptation of herself. The two girls cannot help but engage each other in conversation and will spend some time together.

Mr. and Mrs. Cheng approve of the hardworking friend and leave their daughter to spend time with Alicia.

The young Puerto Rican thinks it is humorous at first that Cynthia prefers to be addressed by her nickname China. She changes her mind when she sees how China is able to attract the boys just because of her nickname. And China is impressed with the talent her new friend shows in attracting young men.

China spends more time around Alicia and Elaina, who by now has anglicized her name to Elaine. She is an eager student to learn how to make men flock around her.

Alicia does not like her name and wants to use a nickname like China. At first, she thinks Rica is a good nickname until China laughingly refers to her as Rick. Alicia is irritated with China at this point. China asks her about Chica. That way, if it gets shortened to Chic, it still sounds like she’s a girl.

The two girls, the Chinese American and the Puerto Rican, look almost like twins. Chica wants to make them look even more alike. She suggests they both frost their hair with blonde streaks. Elaine will not allow that to happen without China’s parents’ permission.

Mrs. Cheng is grateful to Elaine that she has been consulted before Cynthia has anything done. Of course, permission is not given. China’s parents are a little too traditional to let her change her hair color, at least while she is in high school.

The two girls have to leave their hair color alone, until they graduate. The girls will spend the next three years visiting each other across the country and communicating over the Internet. The plan is already in place for China to move to Sandusky with her friend so she can help out as a beautician and learn about attracting men as her friend does; China can teach Chica more about Chinese martial arts, and the two can get their hair frosted together.

B ob Odom is now nineteen years old, in college and thinking about how to help better humanity. He is growing into the tall, dark, and handsome young man that is attractive to many women. Bob is still somewhat inexperienced when it comes to male and female interaction.

The opposite sex should enter into his equation to help mankind, and since he was fourteen years old, he has thought about using scantily clad women to serve the male customers drinks in a bar.

He thinks about serving God by serving others, even if it means serving them beer. Growing up, young Bob had the idea from 1 Corinthians 13:3 which calls for service to his fellow man, drilled into his head from the beginning of his upbringing.

Sometimes, young minds misinterpret the moral messages of their elders for leading a just and ethical life. At fourteen years old, he could convince himself that it would be a noble pursuit; five years later, it’s just funny.

College activities become a little more hedonistic when the parents are not around to keep an eye on their offspring. That’s why so many freshmen don’t survive their first year in college. Fortunately, Bob is engaged in implementing his growing knowledge into his fantasy.

He is developing a computer program to help him keep track of investments, mostly stock purchases. He starts using this system to finance his college experience. It has made him interested in financial trends, so his degree is shifting to reflect that. Between his professors’ advice and working on his computer, he is getting good at making money with investments.

He still wants to save up enough money to build a nightclub and employ attractive women to entice men to buy alcohol. Now that he’s nineteen; alcohol is becoming almost as important to his fantasy as women and sex, and it still seems like a viable pursuit to Bob.

Once in college, he loses the nickname Odin that he picked up as a sophomore in high school. Odin was the Nordic ruler of the gods. That gave him the idea for the nightclub and the name, which is the Vikings’ capital city of the gods, Asgard.

T he old trader has done business with the Oglala Native Americans for years, in South Dakota. Since the economic collapse of the white men, the poverty has impacted the Native Americans very heavily.

He came to their aid when the government deserted them; after all, his now deceased wife was also an Oglala Native American. The young men had to learn to hunt and gather food, a long forgotten occupation. When their survival came into question, the old trader stood between them and starvation or freezing to death.

They have not forgotten his kindness in their time of need. But the old trader had a deep love for his wife, so he uses his knowledge to assist the tribe she came from as a memorial to his beloved spouse. He loves the Oglala Tribe as he loved his wife, and he will help them as best he can because they need him.

The old trader has a young daughter, Kathleen Huber. She is athletic enough. She plays games with the other children and is good at their sport. When teams are formed to compete, she is always among the first chosen. Her black hair and thin muscular stature allows Cat, as she is called, to fit in with the children of the village. Cat is faster than the boys and among the most agile. At fourteen years old, she wrestles with the boys and betters them. She has woodland skills taught by her father.

The old trader and Cat help train the village so they can hunt and gather for themselves. The village struggles to become self-sufficient and owes its survival to the old trader and his daughter.

The old trader passes on. He knew he had a terminal illness and the only place he trusts his daughter’s safety with is the Oglala village. His dying request is for the village leader to take care of his daughter when he’s gone.

The village leader cannot refuse his dying friend’s plea. Cat is taken into the village and to the home of the village leader.

She is brokenhearted without her father but makes the best of her lot. The village leader loves her as he does his other children. She also takes it on herself to hunt and gather for the village and the village leader’s family in particular. She is the most productive hunter and gatherer in the village.

Jim Phillips is a survival expert. He has been working as a civilian advisor at the military base at Fort Hood, Texas for a year now. The young man’s ability to adapt to any situation got the attention of the right people. Jim goes north to South Dakota during the summer to hone his wilderness skills and get away from the Texas heat.

At Jim’s summer retreat, a grizzly cub was abandoned and starving when Jim found him. As the cub becomes a full-grown grizzly, Jim tells him that he regrets the adoption.

The bear eats everything he sees, except Jim. In fact, Wilbur the bear looks on Jim as his mother and would go berserk on anything that might threaten him. That is one of the very few things that would distract the grizzly from a meal.

Jim enjoys the grizzly’s company in the summer, even if he has to spend so much time hunting for Wilbur. If Wilbur misbehaves, Jim yells at him. The bear doesn’t understand but simply leaves when Jim corrects him.

The Oglala village is a short distance from Jim’s crude cabin. The two groups are separated by a shallow river. Nobody crosses over into the other’s land, not even Wilbur.

Jim goes south to work during the winter at Fort Hood, Texas. Wilbur hibernates in Jim’s cabin. During the summer, the two friends hang together away from people and problems, just enjoy the wilderness. That peace and solitude will be disturbed by a young hunter from the Oglala village in another few years.

I t has been said that when a person kills another human being, a little piece of their soul dies with their victim. After enough victims have fallen at the hands of that person, there is little more than a shell of a human being left. Life has little meaning, and destruction becomes an easy solution to a particular conflict at hand. The old saying applies, If the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem becomes a nail.

Mary Vinton had already lost so much of her humanity before she was even able to retaliate. Her father had taken her mother, her childhood, her innocence, and any hope for security she knew as a child.
