Pirates of the Mississippian: The Adventures of Jerry & Draco is a story about two nave, young boys full of curiosity and mischief. They find themselves exploring new places and things, which can sometimes put them in situations they are not ready to take on alone. However, they soon realize they must work as a team and use their creative minds to outwit the oceans wrath along with other evil villains that lurk in the vast waters. Shannon Horn

Shannon Horn is a Southern Illinois native, close to the Mississippi River and St. Louis, Missouri. He has always loved to write poems, hip hop songs, and create varieties of artwork. Shannon is currently a special education teacher for a local high school and received post graduate degrees from SIUE and Lindenwood University. He is a single father of two, which inspired him to write children stories. His two sons, Jayden and Drew (also now known as Jerry & Draco), often asked Horn to tell bedtime stories before they would go to sleep. This story, in particular, stuck in the boys’ memories and caused Mr. Horn to focus on creating a legacy for his children. With his creativity and knack for writing rhyming lyrics, this came easy to him. He intends to continue writing stories that will excite young readers and make them enjoy saying aloud every rhymed line the same way he enjoyed reading Dr. Seuss stories as a child.
