DARNETTA’S FIRST DAY
It’s 8:30 A.M. September 3rd, 2012 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Twelfth grade students, at Walter.L.Cohen, Senior High School, are in their classroom observing their teacher, as she teaches math; from the chalkboard.
The principal steps into the classroom, interrupting the teacher, to introduce a new, beautiful, young female student, whose mother had just moved from another neighborhood; and wanted her daughter to attend a school that’s closer to their new home. When he stepped in, he shouted, Good morning, seniors
Everybody responded, good morning, Mr. Parker,
He asked, Ms. Antoine may I speak to you for a moment?
Yes, Mr. Parker, you may.
After they stepped to the side, Mr. Parker said, to Ms. Antoine, "Ms. Antoine, this is Darnetta, James.
She just transferred from Carver Senior High School, downtown; she’s a good student, she’s going to be in your home room class. Ms. Antoine said,
Okay, Mr. Parker, thank you. Mr. Parker said, to Darnetta,
Do good here at Cohen, Darnetta.
I will, Mr. Parker. He said,
have a nice day. Ms. Antoine, you may continue with your class," as he walked out, smiling.
Ms. Antoine said, to Darnetta, Welcome to Walter.L.Cohen, Darnetta.
Thank you Ms. Antoine.
Then Ms. Antoine said, Excuse me class for the interruption! We have a new student, her name is Darnetta James, welcome her to the class.
Ronald, who was checking Darnetta out every since she stepped into the classroom, and who is very famous in school; known for both his good grades, and singing talent, said; with pure lust in his voice, You are very welcome to my class, Darnetta, please come sit by me.
Everybody gave Ronald the Casanova is trying to put his mack down, look, the teacher said, Oh my god, Darnetta, you may sit over there, away from Ronald.
Everybody started laughing.
At lunchtime, on the school yard, Darnetta is walking with two other young ladies, who are students, that she met, Teresa and Carolyn, when Ronald made sure he put himself in their path, so-that, they would pass by each other. When they met, Ronald pretended that he didn’t know they were coming his way.
He looked up, as if he was surprised, and spoke to Teresa, and Carolyn, whom he already knew, from being in his homeroom class. Then he, as if he had forgotten Darnetta, said, Hey aren’t you the new girl in our homeroom class? I believe, Darnetta?
The other two girls, who know what he’s up to, gives him the yea, right, Ronald, look! She answers, "Yea!
