Prologue
It’s early morning in America, and Serenity and her family are getting ready for a fun-filled day at the carnival. They are miles away from home. They leave their hotel at 10 a.m. and are due to return at 9 p.m. that evening.
At the carnival, Serenity and her family are having a blast, doing what they want to do. But as it becomes dark, Serenity and her family can feel the tension of their hunger for blood.
They look around and all they see are humans—their natural blood source. Serenity and her family all lure prey into dark parts of the carnival. They only take what they need to satisfy them. They get back to their hotel room to find it destroyed. The family packs up what they can carry in one suitcase. They go to the airport and must decide where they all were going to hide.
Serenity chooses Scotland. Her parents, Janine and John, choose China. And her brother, Scott, chooses Japan. They all buy tickets to leave the on different flights so they don’t get caught together. Even the parents take separate flights.
Part One
Vampire Hunters’ Trouble
Chapter One
Serenity enters Scotland early morning by airplane from America. She orders a hotel for her stay. When she gets to her room, she goes to bed. When she wakes up, she leaves the hotel for a night stroll. She spots a very old unused road and decides she wants to check it out. It’s late and right around midnight. The moon is full and high in the sky. There is no one out and about. All a sudden a gentle man steps out of an all-black carriage with no windows. He has two black vampiric horses with red eyes pulling the carriage.
The gentle man is wearing black leather pants that are skin tight. He also has on a black leather jacket with all different size studs on it. Serenity can see what he is wearing because of the moonlight and clear sky plus her vampiric vision.
Miss, you shouldn’t be out here,
says the man.
Why, is it a crime to wander around here at night? What if I like the dark? I’m a girl who likes the nights,
says Serenity.
No it’s not. What is your name, if I may inquire?
asks the man.
It’s Lilly—or at least that’s what I go by,
says Serenity.
No I want your real name, not what people call you by,
he says.
Okay, it’s Serenity. And may I inquire yours?
asks Serenity.
No you can’t have mine yet, Serenity dear. I’ll tell you when the time is right. I must go,
he says.
But sir, I must get to know you,
says Serenity.
Serenity, not now. I’ll send my carriage here tomorrow at midnight sharp. Be here if you truly want to get to know me, and only then will you get my name,
says the man.
She starts walking back to her hotel. She is thinking about the sexy, pale man she met, unaware he is following her back. Serenity walks through the hotel doors, asks for her room key, then takes the elevator up to her room. When she gets inside, she takes a long shower with him on her mind. It is 3 a.m. when she finally gets to bed. Serenity is dreaming about him.
He watches her sleep for awhile and then takes a ride back to his castle and goes to bed. He has fallen in love with this mysterious unknown commoner. He has never felt these feeling before.
Serenity wakes up at 4 p.m. and goes out to her favorite store to find something a little more suitable to wear for the man. She finds a good pair of jeans and a nice top. The jeans are faded; they go from black to gray. The tank top she picks is red fading into pink, a V cut in the front. She pays $60 for both of them. It’s now about 5 p.m. Serenity heads back to her hotel to get cleaned up and ready for tonight. She is not one bit scared of what this pale man will do to her.
She leaves her hotel at 9 p.m. so she an walk around for a bit before meeting the carriage at midnight. But while she is walking, she encounters trouble. A young man grabs her. He takes her to an abandoned apartment building where he lives. She starts struggling to get away. He forces her down. Serenity tries screaming for help. She is trying to act human but is not. She still is struggling. Serenity finally catches him off guard, and then she throws him aside and runs away from the abandoned apartment building.
It’s almost midnight and she is running to the spot where she is supposed to meet the carriage. She gets there right as the church bells ring midnight.
The carriage appears in front of her. She gets in, feeling exhausted and hungry. She is a vampire but a pureblood. She falls right to sleep, overtired from using too much of her powers. When the carriage comes to a stop, the master of the horses comes outside to the carriage. He opens the carriage doors to find Serenity sound asleep. He picks her up and carries her to his room. Then he lays her down on the bed gently. He lies next to her and holds her close to him. He doesn’t know she is his perfect match since they both are purebloods. She wakes up to find herself in his arms.
Umm, sir, why are you holding me instead of me being in the carriage, where I was,
asks Serenity.
You’re in my family’s Scotland castle. This is the secondary castle, Miss Serenity dear,
he says. "I want you close to me and don’t want you to leave me for someone else.
Why me out of all the girls in Scotland?
asks Serenity.
I love you with all my heart, Serenity,
says the man.
Sorry I can’t love someone I don’t know,
says Serenity.
"OK, Serenity,
