Introduction
Everything seemed perfect, in a small town known as Clear View Heights, Pennsylvania. Until things took an interesting turn when two new neighbors moved in town right next door to the Mitchell family. Gracen and her daughter Sarah moved in town, and turned things upside down when people started figuring out that they were not who everyone thought they were. Candice Mitchell decided to be the one that figures it out, before her neighborhood is torn apart. What would you do if you lived next door to America’s Most Wanted, a burglar, or someone who committed suicide? What if someone came out to be not at all who you thought they were.
People were in town living a lie, but it is up to you to figure out why . . .
Chapter 1
Monday May 16, 2011. The sound of my alarm clock goes off at exactly 6:15 am., and as I toss and turn in the sheets tempted to press the snooze button I realize that I have to wake up and get dressed. Not to mention, its time for another week of school on a bright and early Monday morning. My favorite day of the week. No, not really. However, I was a little excited about going to school, because it was a couple weeks before the first school dance of the year. I was curious to see if Cory Carter was going to ask me to be his date. I have liked him for months, and he has no idea about my deep dark feelings for him. No one knows that I like him, except my two best friends Brittany and Nick. I have always been afraid to tell him how I feel, because I’m pretty sure he likes Chayla Moore. The beautiful cheerleader that every guy has a crush on at school. And I’m the girl that never really had any luck with boys, had a first kiss, or a boyfriend. I never even had a guy look twice at me because of my great looks. If they were looking back at me, they were looking because I had just fell down the steps or forgot to wipe peanut butter and jelly of my face from breakfast. The most the guys ever say to me at school is, Can you help me with my homework?
I never was what you would call a boy magnet, I have no luck with guys. Personally, I think Cory is way out of my league anyway. He’s very cute, plays football, and he’s smart. He is pretty much the whole package. The only reason I have had some hope that he was going to ask me to the dance, was because we had been hanging out quite frequently in the library during study hall. Maybe he thinks I’m a cool person after all. But this week I was going to start wearing make-up, curl my hair, and invest in some better fashion to catch Cory’s attention.
It took me about 45 minutes to get dressed, and I had to be at school by 7:30am. Not to mention in Clear View Heights we have to walk to school. Unfortunately, I live in a very small town in Pennsylvania. A place that many have no idea it even exist. And my high school is only about a ten minute walk from my house. Every morning I walk to school with my friends. Brittany lives across the street from me, and Nick lives a block over on Graham Blvd. We always meet Nick at the stop sign on the corner. I also see my neighbor, Sarah every morning. We always come outside of our houses around ten after seven to walk to school. Sarah always insisted on walking by herself, no matter how many times I would ask her to walk with us. Sarah was the new girl in town when we were in eighth grade. Her and her mother Ms. Gracen moved right next door to
