Some have said that dreams are for people who want to escape lifes harsh realities, preferring to live in a fantasy world. Perhaps, but I say we are all better off with a dream.

FOREWORD

EVERYBODY HAS A DREAM. Every single person on this planet has one—some tucked deep in the inner chambers of his or her heart. Others are living it out loud. Still others are yet unaware of what that dream may be, but everyone has a dream.

That dream is a God-given destiny, fashioned in grand style by His infinite imagination. And as His Word assures us, it would blow our minds. Ephesians 3:20 NLT illustrates this point, Now the glory be to God who by His mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts or hopes.

The horizon of the dream God has for you is beyond the limits of the universe. To describe to you its details would require more than words. And the magnitude of this dream cost more than heaven itself—Jesus’ life was the price for your dream. It’s that great!

Some threats, though small, do exist that would cause people to stumble, fumble, and crumble thus keeping people away from God’s great dreams. Pastor Tyus Nedd has deftly identified these threats as dream slayers. Our call is not only to identify the dream and fulfill it through our lives, but also to guard against any dream slayers that would destroy it.

My prayer is that you will live the fullness of your dream. I hope that you avidly will stand hand in hand against dream slayers, because they surely will come. Greater still is the power of our God to bring victory. Read on, dear souls, and be prepared.

A LETTER FROM THE AUTHOR

Dear Dreamer,

The book you are holding in your hands is like no other book you have ever read before. In fact, it is not merely a book that you will read, but it is more like an interactive manual or guidebook between you, me, and the Dream Giver, Himself. You may be asking yourself, How can this book be interactive? I’m glad you asked.

As a dreamer and dream coach, I understand that dreaming is a journey. When we dream, questions arise, obstacles tend to present themselves, and uncertainty and doubt have a tendency to cloud our view. During these times we need someone to talk to. Maybe we need clarity, guidance, a sounding board, or a word of encouragement to stay on course. That is why I am here. In fact, I was created to help you discover, develop and release your dreams. Helping you fulfill your dream helps me fulfill my dream. So I need you to do this: anytime you have a question or need someone to talk to, I want you to contact me. I want you to know that we are on this journey together. Where ever you are in this book and no matter what time of day it is it doesn’t matter. Just stop what you are doing and email me at [e-mail]. I want to know what you are thinking and how you are feeling. I take your dream very seriously. Why? I take it seriously because you are the answer to someone’s dilemma. It could be in a song you sing, a business you start, or a meal you prepare. You may have the cure for cancer or AIDS inside of you. You may be the next governor, mayor, president, gymnast, teacher, author, pastor, or personal trainer. Think about it. Dream about it.

In addition to emailing me, I want to encourage you to use your manual as a journal to jot down anything that comes to your mind. Remember, dreams may come to you in many forms, at any place, and at any time. They may come to you as pictures, words, and/or movie clips in your mind. You may dream while you are in your car, at the beauty parlor, on the golf course, in an airport lobby, or on the bus. It may be two o’clock in the morning or four o’clock in the afternoon. No matter how or when the Dream Giver speaks to you, record it in your guidebook and embrace the ongoing dialogue He wants to have with you.

Let the dreaming begin.
