About this ebook

Black history is not a mystery. We must adhere to give thanks to the almighty each day for our lives. Every black person, need to know knowledge of self. That means to accept yourself for whom you are. Do not crave to be another culture. You will deny the essence of your being. Some people might say let us forget about the past of what happened in slavery, yes we can, but we must not allow for it to happened again.

However a people without their history do not know what theyve done and where they are going. A lot of our ancestors have devoted their lives so we as black people can have quality of life for the future. If we do not educate our children about their history and how their ancestors were good and great people of medicine, architectures, scientists, mathematicians and law, they may think that they are not worthy or capable to be world leaders. We as parents must teach them.. YES WE CAN.

I would like to thank everyone who bought and read my book and hope you find it beneficial.

Zhenreenah Muhxing

First, I would like to introduce myself. My name is ZHENREENAH MUHXINGA. I was born in Jamaica in 1954. I came to England at the tender age of twelve. I went to an all girls’ school in the East End of London. During my school days black history was not taught at any school in the East End of London. I have a passion for black history and decided to educate anyone who wants to know about black history. This is my first book “Who am I?” Secondly, this book is mainly for children, but anyone can read it, because it is an educational tool. Whatever background or culture you have, you can enjoy reading this book. This will help you learn about black history which is seldom taught in school today. It will empower black parents and their children to find out more about their history and identity. Parents and children can experience a connection of their knowledge of self. This book should help a black child or any other culture to feel that they can contribute to society and be what they want to be. It is an interactive book asking questions, so this book will be fun to read. Thirdly, as a black woman, parent and a grandparent, I saw the lack of education on black history which inspired me to write this book. I also put on events during black history month. I write poems and create hand made cards. I am at present at university studying counselling to help support my line of work. I wrote a black history folder for a little girl who started to ask about her identity and now she is accepting herself for whom she is. To get the most of this book please read it to the end. This book makes you think, so the end product is worth waiting for.
