About this ebook

Barack Hussein ObamaFew Are Chosen. The Obamanating Spirit and Remembered Stories is an inspired book written about Barack Hussein Obama, President of the United States of America. The book consists of several topics that I hope the reader will find enlightening. It is a look backwards, in that I tell the audience about the segregated South and a look forward, the place where we must strive to be. Nevertheless, I hope that each individual will enjoy reading my book, which incorporates biography, humor, historical facts, scripture, and religious beliefs. It is not an attack on anyone or any group. It is intended to be an eye-opener in that it deals with several topics that relate to the President including birth, patriotism and religion.
Each chapter discusses what I believe is an American peoples concern. Some people might see my book as a book on race relations and to some degree it is, but gently.
There are thirteen chapters. In Chapter Five I discuss the forty year prophesy of the coming of Barack Obama; while in Chapter Seven I discuss the struggles of African Americans then and now, the African American churches, including Rev. Wright, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King (among other things); Chapter Nine, Forcing Scared Against The President discusses how the politicians work overtime to portray President Obama illegitimately to the American Public, and Chapter Ten, disputes the assertion that Barack Obama is a radical (Really?); Chapter Eleven, Will the Real Mr. Speaker Stand, questions the heart of John Boehner and Chapter Twelve, Guess Whos Coming To The Tea Party warns the Tea Party that they could very easily become the terror group of the past.
Chapter One, I Saw An Angel is the foundation for the book and how it all got started.

DEDICATION TO MY FRIEND, MY SISTER

    VIVIAN DELORES COLLINS

    Dedication.jpg

My Friend, my sister, left this life too early, on January 28, 2012. For thirty-six years she honorably served her fellowmen and women as a registered/ teaching nurse.

At the age of eleven, she and thousands of children were arrested and jailed for participating in the Civil Rights Movement.

Vivian was a friend to one of the little girls who was killed in a church bombing in Birmingham, Alabama. She barely escaped the tragedy because she had somewhere else to be that day. That tragedy did not deter her. She marched on, anyway. As a result of her arrest, the school officials expelled her from Powderly Elementary School and by Court Order, she was permitted to return.

She lived to see the fruits of her sacrifice, the election of the first African American President, the dream, President Barack Hussein Obama.

Our families and friends, along with her siblings and devoted sons, Joseph, James, George, Keith, and daughter-in-law, Shawn, cherish her memory.

    INTRODUCTION

THE REQUEST: I WANT THIS PRESIDENT TO FAIL

Do not act out of selfish ambition or conceit, but with humility think of others as being better than yourselves. Philippians 2:3

"F ew Are Chosen….The Obamanating Spirit and Remembered Stories " is an inspired book written about Barack Hussein Obama, President of the United States of America. It is "self edited " by the author. This book is a welcomed departure from books and articles written or things said portraying the President disrespectfully.

January 21, 2009, a talk show host said that he hoped President Obama would fail, and on May 10, 2011, he repeated the same statement and said, I still want Obama to fail, lest there be any doubt.

The talk show host was in good company. Prominent politicians, also, wished that President Obama would fail. In a four-hour secret meeting that occurred the night of President Obama’s inauguration, a band of approximately fifteen brother Republicans, including Paul Ryan, pledged to sabotage the Presidency of Barack Obama. Robert Draper, in his book, Do Not Ask What Good We Do, details a meeting that took place by powerful Republicans pledging to obstruct the Presidency of Barack Obama. "Show united and unyielding to the President’s economic policies….win the spear point of the House in 2010. Jab Obama relentlessly in 2011. Win the White House and the Senate in 2012. You will remember this day. Newt Gingrich proclaimed to the others as they said good-bye. You will remember this as the day the seeds were sown.(MSNBC) The President had made no decisions affecting Americans or learned his way around the Whitehouse before the plotting of his failure began.

I have listened daily to news accountings of the Obama presidency, and I know the truths and many untruths told about him. As to the untruths the prevailing belief is that if the untruths are repeated often enough the Public will begin to believe them. For that reason and many others, I believe that what I have to say is a conversation that America needs to have, in writing. We will be having this same conversation long after November, 2012.

My book consists of several topics that I hope you will find enlightening. It is a look backwards and a look forward. Nevertheless, I hope that you will enjoy reading this book, which incorporates biography, humor, historical facts, scripture, and religious beliefs.

As the title suggest, I have written stories that I remembered, and I have no other reference except for my memory. Included are historical stories and information that I acquired by listening to MSNBC, Fox News, CBS, PBS, CNN and other on-line sources. I have researched and included references for your future use in the Bibliography and the body of the book. Some chapters are short and some are longer.

Each chapter discusses what I believe is an American peoples concern. Some people might see my book as a book on race relations. However, since the book is about President Barack Obama, you might expect that it will be favorable, but it will be as fair as I can make it.

Not everyone accepts President Obama as his or her President, and this book will do nothing to change their mind, if they do not want it changed. I can only hope that my book will change the mind of at least one person. It takes only one person to reach, many.

I love America, and as an African American I am grieved when I see how President Obama is treated by the people I love. When I travel to foreign countries and someone talks about Americans or our President, whoever he or she might be, I come to the defense of my Country, my President, and my American brothers and sisters. If you have traveled anywhere outside of the continental limits of the United States, then you should know that not every foreign national loves us. Most of them do not like us. However, they know, right away, that I will not tolerate unkind conversations about my American family.

My intent is for this book to be educational. That the reader will gain another perspective or learn something that they did not know, or be reminded of something that they might have forgotten. The reader might learn something about himself or herself.

The scripture says, How can you love me whom you have not seen and not love your brother (or sister) whom you have seen? ( 1John 4: 20-21

There are two spirits. There is the spirit of love and the spirit of evil. Each of us must choose the spirit that will govern how we treat each other.

In addition, there is a little part that I can play in making America a better place to live or contribute in a way that someone else can have a better day. We are our brothers and sisters, keeper. Let me give you an example.

A young man, about twenty-five years old, unexpectedly, came to my home. When I answered the door, he greeted me, told me his problem and explained that he had been standing on the street corner trying to raise money. He said that when it did not work for him he decided to walk door to door, hoping to find someone at home. It was a very cold day, probably the first cold day in the fall of 2010.

Looking visibly cold and not warmly dressed, I invited him into my home and offered him a cup of hot tea.

    I ask,

    What is your name?

He said, My name is Benjamin.

His children had beautiful Biblical names, also. I prepared some, made to order, tea that he liked. He said it was the best tea that he had ever had. It was nothing special, just Tetley tea, but it was special to him.

He told me that he needed a little money so that he could purchase infant formula for his baby. I ask him had he tried the food bank or other charitable organizations, which I named. He said, yes, and that these organizations did not have the special baby formula. They had the standard brands.

I told Benjamin that I had some change in a jar for the grandchildren and that I would share it with him. I retrieved a small dish towel from the closet and emptied half of my change into it. Benjamin thanked me, gave me a hug, and left. Two weeks later, Benjamin visited me to let me know that he was employed, and to thank me for the thirty-three dollars in change.

The day before Easter, I saw a man who was standing on a corner carrying a sign that said, Homeless. I had already planned to give the man a dollar when I saw him from a distance. The closer I got to him, he looked intoxicated, but I gave him the dollar anyway. The next day another man was standing on the same street corner. I deliberately took out a dollar to give to him. The man was well groomed and casually dressed. He did not seem intoxicated, although he held a sign that said, Homeless. It was in the spirit of Easter that I gave, and I had no right to judge these men, regardless.

Mother Teresa would have said, If you feel in your heart that you should give to your brother or sister, regardless of your opinion of them, give anyway. Mother Teresa, would say, It is not your responsibility to judge a person, it is between that person and God. It was never between you and that homeless person anyway.

We have a mission in life, or as Dr. Rick Warren said, A Purpose Driven Life.

I like giving children examples of how the world should be. They are amazing. When the Black, White, Asian, Hispanic youth and other ethnic groups, come together in sports, a cruel word is rarely spoken among them. You have some kids who will make unkind statements about a team player on the opposite team. Often, it is to intimidate.

During one of the 2012, NCAA basketball games, a group of students from a Southern school chanted, "Where’s your green card," referring to a student from Puerto Rico. Some of the college students, apparently, did not know that Puerto Ricans are American citizens. They may not have known that the student was Puerto Rican at all. They just knew that he was Hispanic and that was enough. Most games are not that way. Students are always chanting something. Where did they get the "green card" hate rhetoric? Did they get it from home? Maybe. From our elected officials? More than likely. They are college age students and they vote. They hear and they see. There are always news reports indicating, in one way or the other, the disparaging attitudes of our politicians towards President Obama and Hispanics. It is one continuous saga.

I went to a basketball game between two small rural schools. As is always the case, one school won. After the game, the winning school chanted, take your tractors, and go home. The next year the losing team beat the team that had won the year before. This time the winning team sang, Nah Nah Nah, Nah Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Hay, Hay, Hay, and Good Bye. It was all in fun.

Once, a player dunked the basketball. The students from the competing team chanted, You can’t do that! You can’t do that. The students make you laugh. They make you feel happy. Being around them is a joy. Walking through any campus or school where there are young children or older students is rejuvenating. There is so much life. Nevertheless, most of the time and after the games, the students slap hands, embrace, and socialize with the opposite teams, telling each other that they did a good job.

America you can learn something from the youth. For America to be great again, it might be in the hands of our youth. I have confidence in America’s youth. Most are engaging and seem to be motivated to keep America great. They see an America that is red, white and blue; the stars and the stripes.

Consider this, scientist say that there are 356 Million Trillion gallons of water on the earth. It does not include rain, the moisture in the earth, or our bodies, which is at least 60% water. http://ga.water.usgs.gov/edu/propertyyou.html

The word Universe is supposed to be all that exist. We are part of the Universe. It includes everything, if you can believe that man is capable of knowing everything. However, for argument sake, let us make believe that science has it almost right, and if they do, did you know that the scientist said there are a hundred billion to a trillion galaxies populating our universe with more to be discovered? The Hubble telescope found at least 10,000 distant galaxies in one small space and each galaxy has one hundred billion to a trillion stars. (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/12/01/number-of-stars-in-universe_n_790563.html.)

Can you imagine touring the universe or seeing something more than the stars that are visible to the human eye, the rainbow or a falling star now and then? In the grand scheme of the universe, we are small. We live on the smallest planet and it is big. Our planet earth, which is in the Milky Way Galaxy, defies imagination, and there may be 50 Billion alien planets in our galaxy. (http://www.space.com/10982-kepler-alien-planets-billion-galaxy.html) There is an estimate of 100 Billion stars in our galaxy with the sun being the closest star to the earth. Without the sun and the water we could not live. Our heart beats more than a billion times in a normal lifetime and some say three billion times. Can you imagine your heart beating one billion times?

We do not know all that exist on this earth. Scientist, are constantly making new discoveries, finding new species of animals and plants on the earth, in the ocean and seas. There may be human beings on earth that are unknown to us. Some people are still looking for Big Foot. It is impossible to know all that God has created. It is highly probable that there are unexplored places on earth and the universe. Scientist, are trying to find Heaven and the Atheist are still trying to find God. In other words, if they are trying to prove that God does not exist, they have to continue looking for Him. They might prove that He does exist.

According to the Bible, we all originated from Adam and Eve. If we believe in the Bible, then our second beginning was after the flood, with Noah and his family. We are brothers and we are sisters; we are definitely distant cousins. Nevertheless, it does not take away from the fact that there were only two people in the garden and we do not know their race or color. Noah is the heir to Adam and Eve.

For starters, we do not know the color of God. Where in the Bible does it discuss the race of Jesus Christ? The Bible tells us that the Hebrew people are God’s chosen people and because Christ died for us, God adopted us. However, consider this scripture in Revelations.

18 "To the angel of the church in Thyatira write:

These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze. 19 I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first. (Revelations 2)

Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary and became man. He walked and talked, among us. While he was on earth he was mortal. When He was no longer a mortal man and went home to His heavenly Father, does Revelation 2:18, describe the Deity?

Just reading this scripture should encourage us to love one another, because we do not know whom we will answer to, in eternity.

What I am writing in this introduction is something for you to ponder, and to put you in a mindset to read and think about what I have to say. I believe what is happening in our country and the world affects us all. It is infinite.

If I have written anything that is politically incorrect accept my apology up front. For instance, I repeatedly refer to Americans as being African Americans, White Americans, Asians, Hispanics, and so on. I am the first to admit that I might be behind times and not up to date on what is politically correct, as it was when African Americans went from being referred to as Negro, Colored, Black and African American. Different Americans may want to be referred to in different ways or by some other name. My father had a very difficult time being referred to as Black. He adamantly rejected being called any name other than Colored. It is impossible to know the heart and preferences of all Americans. The face of America and the world is rapidly changing.

Finally, after reading this book it is my desire that my audience will think differently about our President, Barack Hussein Obama; pray for his success, not his failure, because "Many are called, but,

    Few are chosen."

God Bless the United States of America.

    CHAPTER ONE

    I SAW AN ANGEL

For He will command his Angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. Psalms 91:11-12

I was born in 1945. A precocious young black girl living in a South riddled with poverty, suffering and oppression.

From a very young age, and for as long as I can remember, I have had compelling dreams and visions. I have even experienced miracles.

Some of my dreams were (are) in color and others were (are) in black and white. Many of them I cannot remember, and some are so vivid that it is difficult to forget, sometimes even frightening. I have also heard my name audibly called, in a deep voice, from somewhere unknown.

I have dreams of God, heaven, hell, sin, Angels, flying, actors, and places near and far. When I dreamt of sin, the smell of sin was like decayed meat. It is repugnant to the senses, as shown to me by God. I believe, when we do something sinful, or violate the Laws of God, it is offensive to God. The saying is that individuals who are exposed or taught the teachings of Christ have a higher accountability than those individuals who are not taught the teachings of Christ. If you smelled what I smelled, you would never sin, because you would not want to smell like that before God. God, always, has to forgive me; I am constantly in trouble.

My mother said when I was about five months old (in 1946), I had the whooping cough; and I refused her breast milk. In the 1940’s, the whooping cough was a death sentence for many children, especially babies in poor families. After a week of not taking my mother’s milk, I was skin and bones. No one expected me to live.

A woman, unknown to my mother, was passing by. My mother was crying and the woman asked, "What is wrong?"

My mother said, My baby has the whooping cough and is dying. She will not take my breast milk.

The woman, whom my mother never saw again, said, Give your baby a few drops of Coca-Cola.

My mother gave me Coca-Cola to drink, and I accepted it. Within a few days I began to eat, again. Was the woman my Guardian Angel?

In the 1940’s and the 1950’s, every year during the Christmas holidays, my family went to an annual church convention. On the church grounds, there were dormitories where the men, women, and married couples resided. I slept in the room with my grandparents on a fold out bed. Every day and night there was a revival, and as children we had a lot of fun.

One night, while in church, I became very ill. It may have been food poisoning. Some church members wanted to take me to the hospital, but my grandfather took me to the bedroom, instead. The church members, out of concern and curiosity, followed him. I remember him telling them to leave. When they left the room, my grandfather kneeled next to my bed and prayed for me. My healing was, instantly. I was twelve years old.
