Grandma’s Voice
Her voice blows a faint whisper back from the grave
Her voice crept through every flower and rose she ever gave.
I hear my grandma whisper through all the roses and flower gardens of
The fields;
Her roses she loved when she yet lived
Her flowers she left to the world; she gives.
Grandma’s voice speaks a million words
Some of grandma’s wishes unheard.

Acknowledgments
I’d like to acknowledge and dedicate this novel, Grandma’s Rose, to my dear, darling mother, Rose, for her knowledge, wisdom, and support, as well as to my brother Clifton Ferguson Jr. Thank you both for making this novel possible.
I’d also like to thank my daughters, Arcyea and Arteasha, as well as my granddaughter, Aaliyah, for every act of kindness and support. Without you all, I wouldn’t have made it through the production process of this novel.
I definitely want to give special thanks to photographer Larry Kirkland for the beautiful professional photos taken to make Grandma’s Rose. You do excellent work, and I couldn’t thank you enough. I want to also thank the entire AuthorHouse staff for the production process of Grandma’s Rose. I give great thanks and appreciation most of all to God, who has made this possible. Thanks, everybody.

Chapter 1
After the rain, her flowers perked up and were as beautiful as ever. They were just the way she left them, full of life and well-groomed. Nature took good care of the rest, but without her, the flowers would soon die out—except her roses. They were strong like she was and would come back. Even after they’d hibernate, they’d find a way to come alive and survive without Christine, even if nobody tended to them. They gave her so much joy when she was alive, no other blossom could add such extraordinary beauty to her yard as those deep-colored roses that she loved so much. Nothing could be prettier than her roses. She enjoyed all of her flowers while she was alive, knowing that nobody would ever put any on her grave every year after she was gone. Yet
